SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team will begin its quest for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament championship when it travels to East Stroudsburg University for a quarterfinal round match against the defending league champions 1 p.m. Tuesday.

ROCK PSAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Slippery Rock has won three PSAC championships (2003, 2005 and 2012) with its last title coming in 2012. SRU has qualified for the PSAC Tournament 14 times and has not missed out on appearing in the conference tournament since the 2009 season.
SERIES HISTORY
The Rock and the Warriors have evenly split 24 matches all time with each team winning 10 games to go with four ties. Slippery Rock is 4-2-3 against the Warriors dating back to the 2010 season. Tuesday's first round game will be a rematch of last year's PSAC Tournament semifinal game which saw the Warriors end The Rock's season with a 2-0 victory in Erie, Pennsylvania.
LAST MEETING
Slippery Rock and East Stroudsburg, which came into the game ranked third in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, played to a 1-1 tie at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium earlier in the season on Oct. 8, 2016.

SCOUTING THE ROCK

Last Time Out: Slippery Rock lost to Kutztown, 4-0, in its regular-season finale Oct. 29 at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
• Since the PSAC adopted its current tournament structure in 2008, Slippery Rock has advanced out of the quarterfinals and into the semifinal round four times including last year when SRU defeated Shippensburg to set up its semifinal game against East Stroudsburg.
• Through 18 games, Demich leads The Rock in total points (14), goals scored (five) and shots on goal (22) while being tied with
Andrea Felix for the team-lead in assists with four each.

Maddy Tletski ranks second for The Rock in goals with four.
Tess Keeley has scored three goals as well with Felix,
Tyler Spence and
Brooke Testa rounding out SRU's multi-goal scorers with two apiece. Thornton,

• Goalkeeper
Kylie Downs is 9-5-1 with five shutouts, 66 saves, a .795 save percentage and a 1.07 goals against average in 16 games played this year.
• 10 current Rock players appeared in last year's tournament game against East Stroudsburg. Conversely, ESU returns 11 players from last year's postseason match against SRU.
• A large portion of The Rock's starters and top reserves have significant experience playing in the PSAC Tournament. Neef, Demich and Thornton have all played in four conference tournament games over their careers while
Ariana Daukss, Burkholder, Keeley and Tletski have all played in three games. Demich and Keeley have both scored goals in conference tournament games.
• Felix, Demich (two) and Keeley have all netted goals against East Stroudsburg over their careers with one of Demich's goals being the game-winner in 2013. Thornton has two assists and Felix has one assist against ESU as well.
• Slippery Rock is 1-1-2 in games played at East Stroudsburg dating back to the 2010 season.
• Slippery Rock enters the conference tournament ranked eighth in the PSAC in both goals scored (23) and goals allowed (22).

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS

Last Time Out: East Stroudsburg closed out the regular season with a 4-1 win at Gannon to cinch the fourth seed in the PSAC Tournament.
• Alex Pickett's 12 goals are the most by a PSAC player this year. Hannah Gombos also leads the PSAC in assists with eight.
• Five other East Stroudsburg players have three goals in Gombos, Danielle Cary, Sammi Ortiz, Amy Strauser and Laurel Neira.
• One of the top goalkeepers in the league, Jules Harris leads the PSAC in both save percentage (.882) and shutouts (eight) while also ranking third in goals against average (.557). In four games against Slippery Rock over her career, Harris is 2-0-2 with 23 saves and three goals allowed.
• Shea Neal has four goals and one assist all-time against The Rock.
• In addition to ranking third in the PSAC in goals scored with 38, the Warriors have also allowed just 12 opponent goals this season, the second fewest in the conference.
