Rock set for Bloomsburg match

After three road matches, Slippery Rock returns home to James Egli Field Saturday to host Bloomsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – After three road matches, the Slippery Rock University women's soccer returns home to James Egli Field 3:30 p.m. Saturday to host Bloomsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
• Last time out: Slippery Rock's comeback bid came up short as No. 4 Gannon University survived a late scare to defeat The Rock, 2-1, at McConnell Family Stadium in Erie, Pennsylvania.
 
• Junior forward Dara Demich ranks third in the PSAC in points with 17 off of seven goals and three assists. Junior forward Andrea Felix is second on the team, and 10th in the PSAC, with 12 points (five goals, two assists).
 
• SRU is the only team in the PSAC with four players with at least two goals and two assists in Demich, Felix, sophomore midfielder Tess Keeley (two goals, three assists) and senior midfielder Caitlin Binder (two goals, two assists).

• Freshman goalkeeper Charlotte Elrod has made the most of her opportunity as a rookie starter by recording four shutouts, a scant 0.78 goals against average and .781 save percentage.
 
• Slippery Rock leads the PSAC, and ranks 17th in the nation, in goals scored with 27 while its seven goals allowed are the third fewest in the league.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
• Last time out: Bloomsburg had a 13-5 edge in shots, but couldn't pull off the win in a 1-0 loss at Shippensburg University.

• Allie Barber and Ashley Sanchez have shouldered the offensive responsibilities  for the Huskies this season by combining to score 10 of BU's 15 goals with five apiece.

• Jenna Fisher has been credited with two assists to pace the Huskies.

• Goalkeeper Devon Haviland has started all eight games for Bloomsburg, totaling 36 saves (.766), three shutouts and a 1.30 goals against average.

• Eight of Bloomsburg's 12 goals allowed this season have come in the second half of games.
