SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's basketball team will travel to Clarion Wednesday for the first game of the second round of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference divisional play. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m.

Records: Slippery Rock enters the game with a 4-14 overall record and a 1-7 mark in the PSAC-West. The Rock split a pair of games last week with a win over Seton Hill and a loss at Indiana (Pa.)
Clarion enters the game with a 7-11 overall record and is tied with Slippery Rock at the bottom of the PSAC-West standings with a 1-7 record in the division.
Playoff Picture: All nine teams in the PSAC-West are still alive for a playoff berth with six teams set to earn a trip to the conference tournament this year. Slippery Rock is currently two games out of a playoff spot as Indiana and Seton Hill are currently tied for sixth in the standings with 3-5 records. All teams have eight games left to play.
Scouting The Rock: Slippery Rock is scoring 69.6 points per game and allowing 76.1 points per game.
The Rock are shooting 42.3 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 67.7 percent at the free throw line. Opponents shoot 39.9 percent from the field, 35.0 percent from long range and 72.0 percent at the free throw line.
D'Asia Chambers leads the team with per game averages of 17.3 points and 9.2 rebounds. She has scored 30 or more points four times this season, is averaging 22.9 points per game in PSAC-West action and has averaged 23.2 points per game over her last seven games. She has recorded three straight double-doubles with 31 points and 13 rebounds against Mercyhurst, 25 points and 11 rebounds against Seton Hill and 16 points and 11 rebounds against Indiana.
Jazmyne Frost adds 14.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
Aidan Geise chips in 12.0 points per game and leads the team with 42 made 3-pointers.
Erica Aiello contributes 9.7 points and 4.5 assists per game and
Megan Hardiman adds 6.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Scouting the Golden Eagles: Clarion is scoring 67.8 points per game and allowing 73.8 points per game.
The Golden Eagles are shooting 42.0 percent from the field, 28.7 percent from 3-point and 60.8 percent at the free throw line. Opponents are shooting 41.6 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from 3-point and 67.4 percent from the free throw line.
Hannah Heeter leads the team in scoring and rebounding with per game averages of 13.8 points and 11.7 rebounds. She also has 17 blocks on the year. Emma Fickel, coming off recording her 1,000th point in her last outing, averages 12.9 points per game. Kelly Johnson adds 12.3 points per game and Tania Holmes chips in 8.6 points and leads the team with 62 assists.
Series: Clarion owns a 37-34 advantage in the all-time series, including a win earlier this season in the PSAC-West opener for both teams.
Last Meeting: (
Box Score) Clarion scored 57 second half points to hold off a hot-shooting Slippery Rock team for a 95-80 win Nov. 20, 2013 in the first meeting between the teams this season. It was the second highest offensive output that both teams have recorded all season.
SRU placed four players in double figures, led by a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds from
Jazmyne Frost.
Aidan Geise added 18 points and eight rebounds,
Erica Aiello chipped in 13 points and five assists and
Kara Houppert scored 10 points off the bench.
Clarion, playing without Hannah Heeter, placed five players in double figures. Kelly Johnson scored 19 points. Emma Fickel added 18 points, Tania Holmes chipped in 14, Jasmine Boyd added 13 and Raven Jones scored 10 points.
SRU scored 50 points in the second half and shot 56.7 percent from the field, but Clarion kept pace by hitting 20-of-27 free throws in the second half.
Head Coaches: Tanya Longo is in her fourth season as the head coach of the Slippery Rock program, where she owns a record of 17-78. She is the eighth head coach in the program's history. Longo was inducted into the athletic Hall of Fame this year at her Alma Mater, Wisconsin Eau Claire, in honor of her excellent collegiate playing career.
Margaret "Gie" Parsons is in her 25th year as the head coach at Clarion, where has been named the PSAC-West Coach of the Year on four occasions. Parsons was twice named the Regional Coach of the Year and was inducted into the Western Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame. She owns a career record at Clarion of 348-332.
