SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University softball team will travel to Mercyhurst University Saturday for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
Following Saturday's competition The Rock will return home to host Salem International University Sunday at 1 p.m. in a doubleheader at the SRU Softball Complex.

Records: Slippery Rock travels to Mercyhurst with a 10-14 overall record and is 2-4 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division play.
Mercyhurst is 12-20 overall and has a 1-5 PSAC West record. The Lakers will be taking on Edinboro Friday before heading into the SRU battle.
Salem International owns an overall record of 10-24 and enters the games riding a 10-game losing streak.
Scouting The Rock: Slippery Rock is batting .302 as a team following two losses against California University of Pennsylvania. The team is still holding opponents to a .290 average at the plate. SRU has a team ERA of 4.91 while opponents are posting a 3.49 ERA.
Katie Saluga is still leading Rock offensive efforts with a .453 batting average and she has consistently ranked among the top three batters in the PSAC. Saluga's batting average ranks 19th in the nation as of April 8.
Megan Maloney is batting .410 and leads the team with seven stolen bases.
Katie Kaiser has a .397 average following the Cal doubleheader, with 31 hits, including three home runs.
Emily Lobdell is batting .343 with 24 hits and 14 runs scored.
Alaynna Beers has a .295 average with 18 hits and
Jenna Geibel has a .270 average with 19 RBIs and four home runs.
Ashley Knight is 7-9 on the mound for The Rock and has a 4.53 ERA. She leads the team with 89.2 innings pitched and 78 strikeouts. Her 78 strikeouts rank her ninth in the PSAC and she ranks seventh with 21 batters struck out looking. Lobdell is 3-4 in the circle with a 3.79 ERA and 34 strikeouts.
Scouting the Lakers: Mercyhurst has yet to see a win at home in the 2013 season and has only had two wins since being swept by SRU April 5.
The team is batting .279. Leading the way offensively is Courtney Smith with a .446 average, 41 hits, two doubles, two home runs and 19 RBIs. Allison Yule is batting .343 with 36 hits, two home runs and 12 RBIs. Shaina Bunker has a .321 average and is tied for second on the team in RBIs (17) with Megan Smith. Smith has a .290 average.
Megan Hopton is 7-10 on the mound with a 4.12 ERA and 45 strikeouts. Annie Truelove is 4-4 with a 5.36 ERA and 30 strikeouts.
Scouting the Lady Tigers: Salem International has a team batting average of .268 while opponents are batting .339. The Lady Tigers have a team ERA of 5.73 while opponents have a 4.62 ERA against the Tigers.
Nikki Grambo leads the team offensively with a .349 batting average, 30 hits, four doubles and two home runs. Paige Reed is batting .318 and has 12 RBIs. Katie Mangold has started all 34 games and has a .315 average with five home runs. Mangold is second on the team with 18 RBIs. Hayley Wilson leads the team with 20 RBIs and has a batting average of .296 with 32 hits and four home runs. Courtney Kidwell posts a .274 average and leads the team with seven home runs.
Isabel Villalobos has pitched 89.1 innings for Salem International and has a 6-9 record with a 6.04 ERA and 32 strikeouts. Brittni Hall has a 2-9 record on the mound with a 4.09 ERA.
Up Next: Slippery Rock will travel to Edinboro University April 16 for a PSAC West doubleheader. Game one is set for 2:30 p.m. The Rock will then host Clarion April 17 in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. and will host Edinboro April 19 in a doubleheader at 2:30 p.m.
