SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Slippery Rock University women's basketball team welcomes No. 21 Edinboro Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. game in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division action. The game is part of the PSAC's “Hooping for a Cure” initiative to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.
Hooping for a Cure: Both teams will wear special t-shirts in pregame warmups and all money raised from a 50-50 raffle will support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Two 50-50 raffles will take place at the doubleheader. Tickets will be on sale in the lobby of Morrow Field House for $1 per ticket, $5 for six tickets or $10 for 15 tickets. Tickets will be sold until halftime of the women's game, with the winner announced before the start of the second half. Another raffle will take place for the men's game with that winner announced at halftime.
Wear Pink: All fans wearing pink to the game will be admitted free.

Records: Slippery Rock enters the game with a 4-18 overall record and a 3-15 mark in league games. The Rock is riding a nine-game losing streak and is coming off a loss to Lock Haven Wednesday. Edinboro owns a 17-5 overall record and a 14-4 mark in league games. The Scots moved back into the national rankings at No. 21 this week before falling to No. 10 Gannon Wednesday night.

Scouting the Fighting Scots: Edinboro is scoring 70.8 points per game and allowing 60.6 points per game.
The Fighting Scots are shooting 41.2 percent from the field, 24.9 percent from beyond the 3-point line and 74.6 percent at the free throw line. Opponents average 36.2 percent from the field, 27.8 percent from long range and 67.6 percent at the charity stripe.
Kiara Brown leads the PSAC in scoring at 17.2 points per game. Samantha Blazetic ranks third in the league in scoring at 15.1 points per game while also grabbing 8.1 rebounds per game and blocking 53 shots on the year.
Darche' Jackson adds 9.7 points and 3.8 assists per game. Aignee Freeland chips in 7.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game and Laurel Lindsay adds 6.8 points per game.
Series: Slippery Rock leads the all-time series 41-37. The Scots have won the last seven meetings. The last Slippery Rock win came during the 2008-09 season, when The Rock swept the season series.
Head Coaches: Tanya Longo is in her third season as the head coach at Slippery Rock. Longo has taken on a rebuilding project with the program and has posted a record of 13-61 in her tenure at SRU. Longo came to Slippery Rock after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Division I Southern Illinois. Longo owns a 0-5 record in five games against Edinboro.
Stan Swank is in his 26th season as the head coach at Edinboro, where he owns a career record of 461-266 and ranks 14th among all active Division II coaches in wins. He has led the team to a 73-11 record since the beginning of the 2010-11 season and has guided the Fighting Scots to back-to-back PSAC titles. Swank is 29-25 against SRU.
