No. 14 Rock women host Millersville Wednesday in NSCAATV Game of the Week

No. 14 Slippery Rock welcomes Millersville Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in front of a national audience for the Tourbeau NSCAATV National Game of the Week.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The 14th-ranked Slippery Rock University women's soccer team will host Millersville in the Tourbeau Sport's NSCAATV National Game of the Week Wednesday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium at 3:30 p.m.

Live Coverage: Tourbeau Sports will stream the game for free to a national audience via a live HD video stream at the link above. The SRU sports information office will provide live statistics for the game at the link above. Live updates will also be posted on The Rock's official Twitter feed during both games (@Rock_Athletics).

National Rankings: Slippery Rock moved up one place to No. 14 in this week's national rankings. The Rock has now been ranked in eight of the nine weekly polls produced by the NSCAA this year.

Regional Rankings: This week's official NCAA Atlantic Region rankings are not out yet. Slippery Rock is likely to remain at No. 1 after debuting at the top spot last week and posting a pair of wins. Millersville was No. 5 in the initial rankings, but could drop this week after losing to Seton Hill last weekend.

Records: Slippery Rock enters the weekend with an overall record of 12-2-1 and a PSAC mark of 11-2-1. The Rock is riding a seven-game winning streak in which it has outscored opponents 19-2.

Millersville enters the game with an 8-7-1 overall record and a 7-6-1 PSAC mark. The Marauders are coming off a split last weekend, falling 1-0 to Seton Hill and defeating Pitt-Johnstown 3-1.

PSAC Playoff Picture: Defending champion Slippery Rock is locked into the playoffs and can guarantee itself a home game in the quarterfinals Nov. 5 with a tie or a win Wednesday. SRU would need to win its next two games and have California lose its last two to earn the top seed. Millersville is currently on the outside looking in, but can still clinch one of the final eight PSAC playoff spots.

Scouting The Rock: Slippery Rock is outscoring opponents 32-8 and outshooting the opposition 216-105.

Freshman Andrea Felix leads the team and the PSAC with 10 goals and also has five assists, while fellow freshman Dara Demich has added seven goals and one assist and Nicole Krueger has four goals and one assist. Felix also leads the PSAC and ranks fourth in the region in goals per game.

Allison Harbart, Crysta Ganter and Cailin Conner each have two goals and three assists and Lauren Impey has one goal and four assists to cap the top scorers.

The Rock's back four of Impey, Izabel Scott, Marissa Scullin and Lynn Neef has allowed just 48 shots on goal in 15 games.

Dana O'Neill has started 13 games in goal for SRU and is 9-2-1 with a 0.63 goals against average and a .789 save percentage.

Scouting the Marauders: Millersville is outscoring opponents 21-16 and is being outshot by the opposition 180-173.

Megan Wilson leads the team with four goals and one assist, while Megan Kelley has three goals and two assists and Savannah Hall has one goal and three assists.

Halie Parker, Victoria Kramer, Elizabeth Waite and Kristin Lepley all have two goals to cap the top scorers.
Olivia Webber has made 16 starts in goal for Millersville and is 8-7-1 with a 1.00 goals against average and a .797 save percentage.

Series: Slippery Rock owns a 15-3 all-time advantage in the series between the two teams and has won the last eight meetings.

Last Meeting: (Box Score) Slippery Rock outshot Millersville 17-8 and tallied an early goal in the first half and a late goal in the second half on the way to a 2-0 win Oct. 13, 2012 in Slippery Rock.

Lucy Hannon tallied a goal and an assist, Shelby Ward scored a goal and Izabel Scott recorded an assist in the win.

Dana O'Neill earned the shutout in goal with five saves. Olivia Webber took the loss despite making seven saves an getting a team defensive save from her back four.

SRU finished with edges of 17-8 in shots, 10-5 in shots on goal and 2-1 in corner kicks.

Head Coaches: Noreen Herlihy, the reigning PSAC and Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, is in her 19th season at the helm of the Slippery Rock program. She has led the team to 18 consecutive winning seasons and owns a career record of 236-105-28. The 18 straight winning seasons include 16 consecutive with at least 10 wins and ranks as the eighth-best streak in Division II history. Herlihy is 13-3 all-time against Millersville.

Mike O'Brien is in his eighth season as the head coach at Millersville, where he has posted a 39-90-17 overall record. He is in the midst of his best season at the helm of the Marauders program and has already eclipsed his previous best record with eight wins this fall. O'Brien is 0-5 all-time against Slippery Rock.

Up Next: Slippery Rock will close the regular season at Shippensburg Nov. 2 before the PSAC quarterfinals Nov. 5 at a location that will be determined by the outcomes of this week's games.
