KENT, Ohio -- Slippery Rock University sent a select group of athletes to compete in the Doug Raymond Invitational Saturday at Kent State University and came away with two NCAA provisional qualifying marks.
Two Slippery Rock pole vaulters that were competing for the first time this season both hit the NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

Cameron Daugherty returned from injury and cleared 4.95 meters to place second in the meet.
Daugherty was joined by freshman Michael Shiverdecher, competing in his first collegiate competition. Shiverdecher placed third with a provisional mark of 4.65 meters.
Slippery Rock will send another small contingent of athletes to Edinboro next weekend before the majority of the team returns to campus to conclude the remainder of the season.
