BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The 25th ranked Bloomsburg University women's basketball team ran out to a 48-17 halftime lead and cruised to an 84-46 win over Slippery Rock University Saturday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover action from Nelson Field House.

The Huskies (4-1, 1-0 PSAC) limited Slippery Rock (1-3, 0-1 PSAC) to season lows in points, made field goals and shooting percentage.

Slippery Rock was led by a 10-point effort from Jazmyne Frost, who picked up eight of those points at the free throw line after shooting 8-of-8 at the charity stripe. Alexas Brown added nine points, while D'Asia Chambers chipped in seven and Alexis Mayo added six points and a team-high six rebounds.

Slippery Rock made just 12 field goals in the game and shot 20.3 percent from the field (12-of-59), including 1-of-20 from beyond the 3-point arc (5.0 percent). A high point for The Rock was a 21-of-30 effort from the free throw line (70.0 percent), a significant improvement from the first three games of the year.

Bloomsburg was led by a 20 point effort from Dana Wieller. Lauren Ellis added 12 points and Kayla Oxenrider added 10 points.

The Huskies took 84 shot attempts in the game and connected on 33 of them for a 39.3 percent efficiency, including 4-of-25 from the 3-point line (16.0 percent). The hosts were nearly perfect at the free throw line, hitting 14-of-15 attempts for a 93.3 percent mark.

Bloomsburg opened the game with the first seven points and never looked back, pushing the lead out to 24-6 with 8:19 left in the opening period and eventually pushing the lead out to a 31 point margin at 48-17 at the break.

Most of the starters for both teams sat during the latter portion of the second half, with no player in the game playing more than 26 minutes.

While Bloomsburg competes in the PSAC Eastern Division, Saturday's game will count toward the PSAC standings for both teams with a full mandated crossover schedule this year.

Slippery Rock will look to get back into the win column tomorrow when it travels to Mansfield University for a 1 p.m. PSAC crossover game.
