SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team will travel to No. 24 Gannon University Wednesday evening for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match that will help determine the playoff seeding. Game time is set for 4 p.m.

Live Coverage: The Gannon sports information office will provide a live statistics feed for the game at the link above.

Rankings: Gannon moved into the national rankings at No. 24 in the poll released Tuesday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Slippery Rock remains unranked.

Playoff Picture: Gannon and Slippery Rock have both secured PSAC playoff berths. Currently, Gannon holds the fourth position and the right to host a home game in the first round. Slippery Rock currently sits seventh and still has an outside shot at a top four seed, but would need wins in its final two games and help from other teams. If the playoffs began today, SRU would visit West Chester in the first round.

Scouting The Rock: Slippery Rock enters the game with a 9-4-2 overall record and a 6-4-2 PSAC mark. The Rock has not lost in regulation since Sept. 29, going 3-1-2 over the last six games with the lone loss coming in overtime at No. 2 West Chester. SRU is coming off a double overtime 1-1 tie at Edinboro.

Slippery Rock is outscoring opponents 31-14 and outshooting the opposition 201-141. Lucy Hannon leads the way with eight goals and six assists, followed by Shelby Ward with six goals and three assists. Lauren Impey, Stephanie Buckenheimer, Kara Mullins, Cailin Conner, Crysta Ganter, Nicole Krueger and Emer Flatley all have two goals to cap the top scorers.

Dana O'Neill is 9-4-2 with six shutouts in goal. She has allowed 14 goals for a 0.91 goals against average and made 50 saves for a .781 save percentage.

Scouting the Golden Knights: Gannon is riding a two game winning streak and comes into Wednesday at 11-3-1 overall and 8-3-1 in PSAC play.

The Golden Knights are outscoring opponents 36-9 and outshooting the opposition 269-156. Mani Bruckner leads the team with nine goals and 12 assists, while Sammy Valloud has added eight goals and one assist. Michelle Genetin has five goals and three assists and Justine Rodrigues and Kaitlyn Kissell each have four goals and one assist to cap the top scorers.

Sarah Geffel has played the majority of minutes in goal and is 7-2 with six shutouts. She has allowed seven goals for a 0.73 goals against average and made 41 saves for a .854 save percentage. Maggie Brinkman has made five starts and is 4-1 with three shutouts. She has a goals against average of 0.35 and a save percentage of .926.

Head Coaches: Noreen Herlihy is in her 18th season at the helm of the Slippery Rock program. She has led the team to 16 consecutive winning seasons with 10 or more wins and owns a career record of 220-101-26. The 16 consecutive winning seasons rank eighth all-time in Division II history. Herlihy is a 1992 graduate of Mercyhurst College with a bachelor's degree in sports medicine. She also owns a master's degree in sports administration from Slippery Rock.

Colin Petersen is in his 11th season as the head coach of the Gannon women, where he is the all-time winningest and longest tenured coach in program history. Petersen was a standout player on the Gannon men's team in the mid 1990s, where he earned All-Region honors.

Series: Slippery Rock owns a 9-5-1 edge in the all-time series between the two teams, including a 1-0 win last season in Slippery Rock.

Last Time: (Box Score) Slippery Rock scored a 1-0 win over Gannon, Oct. 22, 2011, despite The Rock managing only two shots on goal.

Kara Mullins scored off an assist from Nicole Krueger in the 16th minute after Gannon keeper Maggie Brinkman mishandled a crossing pass and Mullins scored into an empty net. That tally was all SRU would need, as Lisa Rodgers made five saves to earn the shutout.

Gannon finished the game with advantages of 12-9 in total shots, 5-2 in shots on goal and 6-4 in corner kicks.
