SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team will travel to Edinboro Saturday for a crucial Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match at 1 p.m.

Rankings: Edinboro was ranked No. 5 in the Atlantic Region, with Slippery Rock ranked No. 6 in the initial rankings released this week by the NCAA Selection Committee. The top eight seeds in the final poll will qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
Playoff Picture: Edinboro has already clinched a PSAC playoff spot, while Slippery Rock still needs points to guarantee itself a berth. A win Saturday is essential if Slippery Rock wishes to host a home playoff game in the opening round.
Scouting The Rock: Slippery Rock enters the game with a 9-4-1 overall record and a 6-4-1 PSAC mark. The Rock has not lost in regulation since Sept. 29, going 3-1-1 over the last five games with the lone loss coming in overtime at No. 2 West Chester. SRU has won its last two games by a 6-0 total margin.
Slippery Rock is outscoring opponents 30-13 and outshooting the opposition 194-125.
Lucy Hannon leads the way with eight goals and six assists, followed by
Shelby Ward with six goals and three assists.

Dana O'Neill is 9-4-1 with six shutouts in goal. She has allowed 13 goals for a 0.92 goals against average and made 43 saves for a .768 save percentage.
Scouting the Fighting Scots: Edinboro is 9-3-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the PSAC entering Saturday's game. The Scots are coming off shutout wins over Indiana and Lock Haven.
Edinboro is outscoring opponents 20-8 and outshooting the opposition 234-147. Just three players have scored more than one goal and more than half of the team's scoring has come from one player. Liz Debo leads the team with 11 goals and two assists. Karisa Fernandez has five goals and one assist and Jansen Hartmann has two goals and four assists. Seven players have tallied one goal.
Meghan Kelly has started 12 games in goal and is 8-3-1 with five shutouts. She has allowed 11 goals for a 0.88 goals against average and has made 62 saves for a .849 save percentage.
Head Coaches: Noreen Herlihy is in her 18th season at the helm of the Slippery Rock program. She has led the team to 16 consecutive winning seasons with 10 or more wins and owns a career record of 220-101-25. The 16 consecutive winning seasons rank eighth all-time in Division II history. Herlihy is a 1992 graduate of Mercyhurst College with a bachelor's degree in sports medicine. She also owns a master's degree in sports administration from Slippery Rock.
Edinboro played without head coach Gary Kagiavas for the first time on Tuesday as Kagiavas remains hospitalized following an automobile accident last weekend. Kagiavas is the only head coach in Edinboro women's soccer history, overseeing the team's first 311 matches over the past 16 years. Assistant coach Jamie Sallie has been appointed acting head coach while Kagiavas recovers from his injuries. A standout as a player at Edinboro, Sallie owns the Scots' all-time goals record with 37 scored during her time in red and white. She has been an assistant under Kagiavas for eight seasons.
Series: Slippery Rock has dominated the series and owns a 15-3-5 overall advantage all-time. The last Edinboro win in the series came in 2009.

Box Score) Unranked Slippery Rock handed No. 19 Edinboro a 1-0 defeat last year in Edinboro on Oct. 5. The loss was just the third of the season for the Scots.
