GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team scored two goals in a stretch of less than 30 seconds in the second half to defeat Seton Hill, 2-0, Sunday afternoon in Greensburg.
The Rock (2-0-0) dominated play from the first whistle, but struggled to score in the first half, sending the game to intermission notched at 0-0.
Kara Mullins broke the tie with her first collegiate goal, converting on an assist from #Alison Hindley in the 47th minute.
Less than 30 second later,
Ashley Paganie scored her second goal of the season, this time off an assist from
Juliana Howell, to put The Rock up 2-0.
For the game, SRU finished with advantages of 29-4 in total shots, 13-1 in shots on goal and 4-0 in corner kicks.
Mullins finished the game with a team-high eight shots, including four shots on goal. Hindley added five shots with Paganie finishing with four.
Dana O'Neill earned her second win and second career shutout, recording one save.
Bethany Winter took the loss for the Griffins (0-2-0), allowing two goals and recording 11 saves.
The Rock will open its home schedule Wednesday when Millersville travels to Thompson Stadium for a 2 p.m. match.
Wednesday's game also marks the opening of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference schedule.
