CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University volleyball team lost 3-0 (19-25, 9-25, 17-25) to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division foe California (Pa.) Friday night at Hamer Hall.

The loss drops Slippery Rock's overall record to 8-16 and PSAC record to 5-9. With the win, California (Pa.) improves to 17-9 overall and 12-2 in the PSAC.

Junior outside hitter Alee Kromer, who has recorded at least 10 digs in all but two matches for SRU this season, led The Rock with 17 digs while senior middle blocker Keira Peoples was the top hitter for SRU on the night.

Slippery Rock has now lost four consecutive PSAC matches. The win also gives California (Pa.) the season-sweep over SRU. Earlier this year, Slippery Rock won the first two sets at home against California (Pa.) before the Vulcans came back to win three consecutive sets for a 3-2 win.

The Rock will play its next to last away match of the season on Saturday at PSAC-West rival Indiana (Pa.). The match is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start. Earlier this season, SRU scored a 3-1 win over the Crimson Hawks in Slippery Rock.
