EDINBORO, Pa. – Freshman forward
Amanda Mikatavage recorded the first double-digit scoring total of her collegiate career Saturday afternoon in the Slippery Rock University women's basketball team's 76-55 loss at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Edinboro.
The loss was the fifth straight for The Rock, who saw their overall record fall to 3-12 and its PSAC-West mark drop to 0-2.
The Rock will seek to end its skid Wednesday when it hosts fourth-ranked Gannon for a 6 p.m. division game in Morrow Field House.
Mikatavage, whose previous best single-game scoring total was eight points in two games earlier this season and entered the game with a 3.6 points per game average, finished Saturday's game with 13 points.

Renee' Brown had a 25-point, 14-rebound “double-double” to lead Edinboro (11-4 overall, 2-0 PSAC-West).
The Rock finished the game with a 36% (28-77) efficiency on field goal attempts that included a 4-of-11 (36%) reading from 3-point range. SRU sank 11 of 14 (79%) free throws.
The hosts also shot 36% (28-77) from the field, hit a frigid 15% (3-20) from beyond the arc and canned 17 of 20 (85%) free throws.
Edinboro outrebounded The Rock by a 53-34 margin and had less turnovers, 18-12. The Fighting Scots scored 20 points off Rock errors, while SRU scored 11 points off turnovers.
Edinboro scored the first four points of the game and never trailed thereafter.
The hosts held a 13-4 lead after three and a half minutes of action before The Rock went on a 7-0 run to trim the deficit to two, 13-11, with 14:30 left in the first half.
Four minutes later, the hosts held an eight-point, 22-14, advantage before The Rock again responded, this time with a 5-0 run to make it a 22-19 game with eight minutes remaining before the intermission.
The hosts outscored SRU by a 17-6 margin in the final eight minutes of the opening period to take a 39-25 lead into the locker room. The Scots had runs of 9-0 and 6-0 down the stretch.
Neither team shot the ball particularly well in the first 20 minutes. The Rock made 39% (11-28) of its field goal attempts, including a 1-of-5 effort from 3-point range, while Edinboro hit 37% (14-38) of its shots, 1-of-8 from beyond the arc.
The Scots held a 10-2 scoring advantage from the foul line thanks to a 12-3 difference in charity attempts and had a 25-18 rebounding advantage in the opening half.
The Rock also hurt itself with 11 first-half turnovers, which Edinboro converted into 10 points, while SRU scored only three points off six Scots' errors.
Molloy had seven points and both Beatty and Mikatavage scored six points in the first 20 minutes to lead The Rock scoring attack. Brown had 16 points and eight rebounds for Edinboro.
The hosts continued to pull away in the opening minutes of the second half as they held a 26-point, 58-32, lead with 11 minutes left to play.
The Rock was unable to trim the margin to less than 15 points in the final 11 minutes of the game.
