Women's Volleyball The Rock came back after being down 0-2 to defeat the Yellow Jackets 3-2 at the Atlantic Region crossover hosted by Indiana (Pa.)

The Rock rebounds with a 3-2 win over West Virginia State

Indiana, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University volleyball team captured its third win of the season Friday night with a 3-2 win over West Virginia State 3-2 at the Atlantic Regional crossover hosted by Indiana, Pa.
The Rock (3-7) lost the first two sets, 25-18, 25-16 but fought back to win the last three sets 26-24, 25-16, 15-11. 

Freshman Hannah McShea led the team in kills with 15 on 39 attempts, three aces and seven digs. Junior Keira Peoples also had double digit kills with 11 on 18 attempts and a solo block. Juniors Anna Bixler and Kim Wilson combined for 47 of The Rock's 56 assists. Senior Stacey Domer led the team in digs with 15. 

The Rock led in most statistical categories, with 62 kills, 56 assists, and eight aces. West Virginia State led in digs with 57, behind Leisha Salyer who registered 21 digs. Three yellow jacket players recorded double digit kills, and Jennifer Paswaters led all players with 42 assists. 

The Rock returns to action Saturday with two matches against Goldey-Beacom at 10:30 am and Shepherd at 2:30 pm.
