Alee Kromer and junior middle blocker
Keira Peoples recorded seven kills each Wednesday night to lead the Slippery Rock University women's volleyball team's attack in a 3-1 loss to visiting Point Park in Morrow Field House.
The Rock (7-21) won the first set by a 26-24 score before the Pioneers (25-7) took the final three sets by 25-22, 25-14 and 25-19 scores.
Kromer also had 13 digs, while Peoples tied with sophomore middle hitter
Lisa Bakaitis for the team lead with six blocks.
Sophomore outside hitter
Kaylee Smith chipped in six kills and 15 digs, senior defensive specialist
Stacey Domer had a team-high 19 digs and sophomore outside hitter
Alexa Erossy finished with 11 digs.
Junior setters
Anna Bixler and
Kim Wilson handed out 18 and 11 assists, respectively. Bixler also had 13 digs and three of The Rock's four service aces.
The Rock's next action will take place Friday and Saturday, when the Green and White will visit California and Indiana, respectively, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action.
SRU then closes out its 2009 schedule with back-to-back games Nov. 6 and 7 vs. division rivals Gannon and Edinboro, respectively.
