SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Alee Kromer had a team-high 15 kills Saturday afternoon to lead the Slippery Rock University women's volleyball team's upset bid against visiting Mercyhurst College in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action in Morrow Field House.

The Rock (7-20 overall, 3-12 PSAC-West) took the Lakers to five sets before falling. Game scores were 18-25, 25-22, 25-13, 17-25 and 15-10.

Alexa Erossy had 11 kills, 12 digs and four blocks for The Rock, Kaylee Smith added 11 kills and 18 digs, Lisa Bakaitis chipped in a team-best six blocks and senior setter Stacey Domer had a team-high 29 digs.

Junilor setter Anna Bixler handed out 23 assists and had 20 digs, while fellow junior setter Kim Wilson had 19 assists.

The Rock returns to the court Wednesday when they will host Point Park in a 7 p.m. non-conference game in Morrow Field House.
