INDIANA, Pa. -- Senior guard
Amanda Nero (pictured above) scored a team-high 12 points and handed out five assists Saturday night in The Rock's 56-43 loss to ninth-ranked Indiana (Pa.) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action on the winners' home court.
The loss dropped the Green and White's overall record to 7-12 and its PSAC-West mark to 2-4.
Indiana, meanwhile, improved its records to 16-3 overall, 5-1 against division rivals.
Neither team shot the ball well. SRU made only 27.8% (15 of 64) of its action shots, while Indiana hit 35% (20 of 57) from the field.
The Rock made 43.8% (7 of 16) of its shots from 3-point range and canned six of nine (67%) free throws, while Indiana was 0-for-9 from beyond the arc and hit 16 of 21 (76%) from the charity stripe.
The winners held a 44-37 advantage in rebounding and also was on the better end of a 25-18 turnover comparison.

Sasha Sales scored four points, grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds and collected five steals and four assists to complement Nero's effort.

Julie Molloy finished with six points, senior guard Chere' Marshall chipped in five points and five assists, sophomore guard
Grace Palucis had four points and four steals and senior post player
Haley Gaidosh snared seven rebounds.
The Rock and Indiana traded the lead seven times early in the first half before the hosts outscored SRU by a 15-10 margin in the final minutes to take a 23-18 lead into the intermission.
SRU stayed with the Crimson Hawks for the first 10 minutes of the final half before the hosts pulled away. The hosts' largest lead was a 15-point, 49-34, advantage with 4:15 left to play.
The Rock jumps from the proverbial frying pan into the fire Wednesday night, when third-ranked California (Pa.) invades for a 6 p.m. game in Morrow Field House.
That will be the first of three straight home games for The Rock and will be the opening game of a "Green Out Night" event, for which Rock fans are urged to wear green apparel. The SGA Bookstore in the SRU University Union is selling special "Green Out Night" t-shirts for $7.
Following Wednesday's game, The Rock will host Mercyhurst in a 1 p.m. game next Saturday (Feb. 7) and Gannon in a 6 p.m. game Feb. 11.
