ERIE, Pa. -- Junior point guard
Nikki Presto recorded team-high totals of 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals Wednesday night to lead The Rock effort in an 80-66 loss at Mercyhurst in the first game of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division schedule.
Senior guard
Amanda Nero added 14 points for The Rock, who lost their third straight game and saw their overall season record drop to 5-9.

Jess Schake tied Presto for team-high rebounding honors with six and, with eight points, matched the point total of her twin sister

The Rock will seek to snap its losing streak Saturday when it hosts division rival Edinboro in a 1 p.m. game in Morrow Field House.
That will be first game of a women's and men's doubleheader held as part of the annual "Take A Kid to The Game Day" promotion. All children 14 years of age and under will be admitted free of charge.
Alissa Schake scored the first basket of the game Wednesday night to give The Rock and Presto (pictured above) tied the score at 6-6 with a jumper at the 16:30 mark before Mercyhurst assumed control of the action.
The Lakers (7-7, 1-0) outscored The Rock by a 20-5 margin in the span of nine minutes to take a 15-point, 26-11, lead with 7:15 left in the first half and held a 36-21 advantage at the intermission.
SRU closed the gap to four points, 61-57, with four minutes left before the hosts scored six unanswered points to push the margin back to double digits with just over two minutes remaining.
Stephanie Prischak took game scoring honors with 21 points for Mercyhurst and led a list of four Lakers who finished with 10 or more points, Amy Achesinksi added 14 points, Jackie Artise 13 and Samantha Loadman 10.
