SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Sophomore forward Ashley Paganie had a hand in both Rock goals in SRU's 2-0 win Tuesday night over visiting Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Lock Haven at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

Paganie (pictured above) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the ninth minute of action when she nailed a direct kick.

She then had a perfectly placed corner kick to set up the second and final goal of the game, scored on a header by freshman Chelsea Sneed in the 34th minute of action.

The Rock outshot Lock Haven by a 16-9 margin. SRU senior goalie Sarah Lacy was called upon to make five saves in a complete-game netminding effort.

The win improved the Green and White's overall record to 6-1-1 and moved them into sole possession of second place in the PSAC-West standings with a 4-1-1 division mark and 13 points.

PSAC standings are determined on a point system in which three points are awarded for a division-game win and one point for a division-game tie.

The Rock steps outside of PsAC-West competition at Saturday when it hosts Bloomsburg in a 2 p.m. PSAC "crossover" game at Thompson Stadium.

SRU, in the wake of its double-overtime loss at Mercyhurst last week, dropped from 12th to among teams receiving votes in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II national poll.

The Rock also dropped two spots to fourth in the NSCAA Atlantic Regional poll.
