AKRON, Ohio -- Senior guard
Amanda Nero scored a team-high 19 points Saturday afternoon to lead The Rock effort in a 90-60 exhibition-game loss to hosting Division I Akron.
Nero (pictured above), one of five seniors on this year's Rock squad, made seven of eight shots from the floor, including three of four 3-point attempts, and was two for two from the foul line in 31 minutes of action.

Sasha Sales, a transfer from South Carolina State, scored 13 points and tied for team-high honors in rebounds with five in her first appearance in the Green and White. Junior wing
Julie Molloy added 10 points to the SRU attack.
The Rock trailed by a 53-31 margin at halftime.
SRU will officially open its 2008-09 schedule Saturday with a 3 p.m. game against the host team in the Kutztown University Tournament.
The Rock meets LeMoyne in a 1 p.m. game the following day before opening the home schedule with a 7 p.m. game Nov. 20 vs. Tiffin in Morrow Field House.
