EAST STROUDSBURG, PA. -- Senior post player KellyAnn Staudinger scored a team-high 19 points Tuesday night in The Rock's 85-72 loss at East Stroudsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference "crossover" action.
Junior guard Amanda Nero added 16 points, sophomore wing Julie Molloy chipped in 14 points and four assists and sophomore post player Colleen Smith had 10 points.
Sophomore guard Nikki Presto had a team-high 10 rebounds and scored six points for The Rock, which lost for the second straight night and fourth time in as many "crossover" games this winter.
Both The Rock and East Stroudsburg now own 4-5 records this winter.
The Rock's point total Wednesday was its highest of the season, but East Stroudsburg's total was also the most allowed by the Green and White.
The Rock is idle until Dec. 28, when it will take on Southern New Hampshire in the first of two games of the Surf 'N Slam San Diego Hoops Classic in California.
SRU never trailed in the opening half of Wednesday night's game, held a 14-point (28-14) lead with 9:30 left in the first stanza and had a four-point (37-33) advantage at halftime.
East Stroudsburg, which enjoyed a 52-35 scoring advantage in the final half, took its first lead of the game with 15:20 left in the game when it took a 47-46 edge. The Rock tied the score at 47-47 before the host took command of the action.
The 13-point final margin was East Stroudsburg's largest of the game.
The Rock shot 42.6% (26 of 61) from the field in the game, hit 35% (7 of 20) shots from beyond the arc and made 59.1% (13 of 22) of its free throws.
