SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The undefeated Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team moved up one spot to No. 7 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association national rankings and stayed at No. 3 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine national rankings when both organizations updated their Division II national polls Monday.

Slippery Rock climbed back to No. 7 in the IWLCA poll, which is widely used as the official national ranking, after being ranked No. 8 in each of the last two weeks. The Rock opened the year at No. 8 in the preseason poll before dropping to No. 11 without playing a game. SRU then jumped up to No. 7 after a 2-0 week to open the season and stayed there for four weeks before falling back to No. 8 for two weeks and moving back to No. 7 this week. SRU opened the year at No. 5 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll and climbed to No. 3, where the team stays for the seventh week in a row.

SRU continued to hold high rankings in both polls after posting a 20-4 road win at Gannon University last week in its only outing the of the week.

Slippery Rock continues to be one of just three undefeated teams remaining in Division II, joining No. 1 Flagler (16-0) and No. 5 East Stroudsburg (14-0). The Rock rank first nationally in scoring defense (5.00 goals per game), fifth in scoring offense (16.62 goals per game) and third in scoring margin (+11.62 goals per game).

East Stroudsburg is the highest ranked team from the Atlantic Region at No. 5 in the IWLCA poll after climbing two spots this week. The Rock come in at No. 7 to give the region two teams in the top 10 this week. West Chester held its spot at No. 11 and Kutztown stayed at No. 15 to five the PSAC the top four ranked teams from the region.

Wingate dropped four spots to No. 16 this week as the top ranked team in the region from outside the PSAC. Seton Hill stayed at No. 22 and Anderson dropped one spot to No. 25 to give the Atlantic Region seven teams in the top 25 this week.

Slippery Rock will open the stretch run of the regular season with a pair of home games this week, first hosting Edinboro Wednesday at 4 p.m. before hosting Indiana (Pa.) Saturday at noon. SRU will then close out the regular season next week with road games at Seton Hill and Lock Haven. The Rock have already clinched a PSAC Playoff berth.
