Slippery Rock jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter and scored the first 21 goals of the game on the way to a 24-2 win over Gannon back on March 21 in the PSAC West opener for both teams. REGULAR SEASON WINNING STREAK
Slippery Rock has won 22 straight regular season games and is 27-1 in the regular season since the beginning of the 2025 season. The lone loss in that stretch is a 10-9 overtime loss at Lander on March 15, 2025. The only other two losses SRU has suffered since the opening of last season were in the PSAC title game last spring to No. 2 West Chester, which SRU avenged in the regional title game two weeks later, and in the national semifinals to No. 7 Adelphi. The Rock are 30-3 overall since the start of 2025.

PSAC WEST STREAK AT 19
Slippery Rock has won 19 straight PSAC West games dating back to the 2024 season. The Rock won their final four division games in 2024, went 10-0 in the division in 2025 and are 5-0 this year for a total of 19 straight PSAC West wins. That is the fifth longest active conference winning streak in the country, trailing Grand Valley State (58), Dominican (29), Frostburg State (25) and Flagler (20).

Slippery Rock has won its last eight straight road games dating back to the Atlantic Region semifinals and finals last spring. That is the third longest active road winning streak in the country behind only Wingate (12) and Young Harris (9).

THREE UNBEATENS LEFT
Slippery Rock enters the week as one of just three Division II teams that are still undefeated on the year. The Rock and East Stroudsburg (13-0) are the only two teams in the Atlantic Region that have yet to lose a game. The only other undefeated team across the nation is No. 1 Flagler (Fla.) (15-0).

THE ROCK AGAINST THE PSAC WEST
Saturday will mark the opening of the second round of divisional play in the PSAC West with all six teams having played each other once so far. The Rock came through the first round of the divisional slate with a 5-0 record and have outscored the division 94-17 in five games. No team in the division has scored more than five goals against SRU this spring.Â

Slippery Rock and Lock Haven played to a 2-2 tie through the first period before The Rock exploded for 18 goals over the final three periods to run away with a 20-5 win last Saturday. SRU fired off 50 total shots in the game and finished with advantages of 50-11 in shots, 32-7 in shots on goal, 22-5 in draw controls and 21-14 in ground balls.

ROCK SWEEPS PSAC WEST AWARDS AGAIN
Slippery Rock swept the PSAC West Athlete of the Week awards this week for the second time this season with
Grace Rotter being named the Athlete of the Week and
Paige Jenkins being named the Defensive Athlete of the Week. Rotter tallied nine goals and one assist across two games last week, including six goals and one assist in a win over Seton Hill. Jenkins caused seven turnovers and grabbed 13 ground balls to pick up her fourth PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week award this spring.

JENKINS TIES SRU CAREER RECORD

Paige Jenkins caused five turnovers and picked up nine ground balls in the win over Lock Haven last Saturday, bringing her over 100 caused turnovers and 100 ground balls on her career. In the process, she tied the SRU all-time career record with 101 caused turnovers. With one more this week, she can move into sole possession of the SRU record.

TOUGH TO SCORE ON
Slippery Rock has limited its last 10 opponents to six goals or fewer and has held opponents to single-digit scoring in 11 of 12 games this year. The Rock are outscoring their opponents 196-61 through 12 games, including 165-40 over the last 10 games, and outshooting opponents 436-182. The only opponent to reach 10 goals this year was No. 5 West Chester back on Feb. 21.

SRU also ranks 17th nationally in assists per game at 7.58.

The Rock enter this weekend ranked No. 1 in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 5.08 goals per game. SRU ranks No. 2 nationally in caused turnovers per game at 14.83 and ranks 10th in ground balls per game at 22.42. Opponents have gone just 59.3 percent on clear attempts this year (127-of-214).

TOP 10 IN THE DRAW CIRCLE
Slippery Rock enters this game ranked 10th in the nation in draw control percentage (62.9%) and 17th in the nation in draw controls per game (15.00).
Shannon Von Kaenel and her 99 draw controls are the primary reason for that as she currently ranks fifth in the nation in draw controls per game at 8.25. She takes nearly all the draws and has helped The Rock to post an 180-106 advantage over opponents through 12 games.
