SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team held steady at No. 7 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association national poll and No. 3 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine national poll when the Division II national rankings were updated Monday.Â
Â
The IWLCA poll is widely used as the official national ranking throughout the season. Slippery Rock opened the year at No. 8 in the preseason poll before slipping to No. 11 before even playing a game. The Rock jumped up to No. 7 after a 2-0 week to open the season and have remained there since. SRU opened the year at No. 6 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll and has climbed to No. 3.Â
Â
The high rankings come after Slippery Rock improved to 4-0 with a 19-4 win at D'Youville Saturday in SRU's lone game last week. The Rock opened the 2026 season with three straight wins over reigning conference champions and NCAA Tournament qualifiers from last spring with wins over Ashland, West Chester and Grand Valley State.Â
Â
Slippery Rock continues to be the top ranked team from the Atlantic Region in the IWLCA national poll at No. 7. The Rock are joined in the top 10 this week by East Stroudsburg, which moved up two spots to No. 10 after posting a 24-9 win over last year's national runner-up Adelphi last week.Â
West Chester held steady this week at No. 11 and Wingate also held its spot at No. 13 to give the Atlantic Region four teams in the top 15 again this week. The region also has three more teams in the top 25 with No. 17 Kutztown, No. 18 Seton Hill and No. 23 Anderson (S.C.) closing out the seven teams from the region in this week's top 25.
Â
Slippery Rock will play two games this week with a home game Wednesday at 4 p.m. against Wheeling and a road game in South Carolina Saturday at Lander University. The Rock will then stay in South Carolina for spring break and play at Newberry next Wednesday.Â
