BUFFALO, N.Y. – The seventh ranked Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team jumped out to a 14-1 halftime lead and cruised to a 19-4 win on the road at D'Youville University Saturday from Dobson Field.

The Rock poured in seven goals in the first quarter and scored the first nine goals of the game on the way to improving to 4-0 on the year and 5-0 all-time against the Saints. D'Youville slips to 1-2 with the loss.

Every player on the Slippery Rock roster played in the game, including all the freshmen that had yet to make their collegiate debuts. The Rock got points from 14 different players in the game with seven different players scoring at least two points.

SRU overpowered the Saints defense and finished the game with advantages of 47-10 in total shots, 36-6 in shots on goal, 18-7 in draw controls and 29-18 in ground balls. SRU was nearly perfect on the clear at 16-of-17 while holding D'Youville to 12-of-19 with the Saints finishing the day with 22 turnovers.

Grace Rotter paced the attack with a game-high five points with four goals and one assist.
Reagan Richeson matched her for game-high honors with four goals.
Isabella Buono chipped in a hat trick and
Maddie Blazey handed out three assists to cap the top scorers.

SRU also got two points each from
Caitlyn Kelly with a pair of goals,
Cadyn Eismann with two goals and
Abby Fink with one goal and one assist.
Freshmen
Amara Langstaff and
Madi Leach each scored their first career goals and
Ava Dossier tallied one goal to cap the goal scorers.
Sydney Ulmer,
Lauren Petty and
Claire Petty each handed out one assist to round out the point scorers.

SRU was credited with 16 caused turnovers in the game with freshman Richeson leading the way with five to go along with four ground balls.
Paige Jenkins andÂ
Aleigha Dubroc each caused three turnovers with Dubroc grabbing a game-high six ground balls and Jenkins pulling down four draw controls.
Gemma Sciarroni caused two turnovers and
Shannon Von Kaenel was credited with a game-high 11Â draw controls.

Both goalies played one half each for Slippery Rock with
Lily Ventresca playing the first half and picking up the win after allowing one goal while making one save.
Ava Drath played the second half and allowed three goals to go along with one save.

D'Youville was led by goalie Kaylee Farias, who was under pressure all day and finished with 17 saves and four ground balls. Madison Buck led the attack with one goal and one assist.

Slippery Rock will return home for its next outing when Wheeling University visits Mihalik-Thompson Stadium Wednesday, March 11, for a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
