SRU CAMPS AND CLINICS HOMEPAGE
Â
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University Athletics Department will host two strength and conditioning clinics in May with a middle school clinic scheduled for May 17 and a high school clinic scheduled for May 23.
Â
These will be new clinic offerings at Slippery Rock and will be led by head strength and conditioning coaching
Connor Olson.
Â
"We've made a lot of strides in understanding strength training and development for young athletes, said Olson." We believe hosting these clinics to inform and educate young athletes about the importance of strength and conditioning can be a terrific way to increase awareness of proper training methods for the young athletes in our community."
Â
The clinics will be split into two specific groups for different age ranges. The first clinic will take place May 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and will be focused on the middle school level, for students that will be entering grades 6-8 in the fall.
Â
The second clinic will be May 23 from 10 a.m. to noon and will focus on high school athletes that will be entering grades 9-12 in the fall.
Â
Both clinics will take place at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium and in the Jerry Bejbl Weight Training Center at the stadium.
Â
The clinics are designed to introduce athletes to overall athletic development training. Each day will consist of a warm-up, training on the field, competition and games, weight room movement prep, a strength training session and a cooldown, all led by the SRU strength and conditioning staff.
Â
The cost to attend each clinic is $45 per athlete and each attendee will receive an SRU Strength and Conditioning t-shirt.
