Certified strength and conditioning specialist Connor Olson joined the Slippery Rock University Athletics staff as head strength and conditioning coach in July of 2023.

Olson works with the SRU athletic training staff and the coaching staffs of all 17 sports teams to coordinate the strength and conditioning program for Slippery Rock's more than 400 student-athletes.

A 2018 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in kinesiology, Olson came to Slippery Rock after serving as the director of strength and conditioning at West Virginia Wesleyan College for two years. While working with the Division II Bobcats, Olson designed and implemented strength training programs for 21 teams and more than 500 student-athletes. He also served as an adjunct professor, teaching exercise and weight control and foundations of strength and conditioning.

In addition to his strength and conditioning role at West Virginia Wesleyan, Olson also volunteered as a pole vault coach with the track and field team and assisted the athletics department with game operations.

Prior to taking the position at West Virginia Wesleyan, Olson spent the spring of 2021 at his Alma Mater as an assistant strength and performance coach at Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he handled the primary conditioning programming for men's and women's soccer and gymnastics, while also assisting with more than 10 other NCAA Division III teams.

Olson spent the two years before that working at West Virginia University, where he served as a graduate teaching assistant and a strength and conditioning intern working with the Division I Mountaineers' Olympic sports. He earned his graduate degree in coaching and sport education with a concentration in performance coaching from WVU in 2020.

Olson is NSCA certified as a strength and conditioning specialist and is CPR and first aid certified through the American Red Cross.
