Paige Jenkins was named the Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week when the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its week's women' lacrosse awards Tuesday.

Jenkins, a junior from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, picks up her second PSAC Athlete of the Week award of the season after leading The Rock defense in a pair of wins last week.

Slippery Rock limited Wheeling and Lander to just seven total goals across two games last week and The Rock defense has now held teams to six or fewer goals in four straight games and single-digit outputs in five of six games this season.

Jenkins finished the week with six caused turnovers, seven ground balls and eight draw controls. She caused two turnovers, grabbed six draw controls and picked up three ground balls in a 22-3 win over Wheeling and then caused four turnovers, picked up four ground balls and snagged two draw controls in a 9-4 win at Lander.

Slippery Rock is now 6-0 on the year and is one of just seven undefeated teams remaining in Division II. The Rock will play their second game in South Carolina when they visit Newberry College Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game.
