USA Lacrosse Preseason All-America Team

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse standouts Paige Jenkins, Grace Rotter and Lily Ventresca were named to Preseason All-America honors by USA Lacrosse Magazine when the national publication announced its Division II preseason honors this week.

Jenkins was named to the first team as a defender, while Rotter picked up second team honors at attack and Ventresca was named to the honorable mention squad at goalie.

All three SRU honorees were named to at least one All-America team last spring after leading The Rock to the Atlantic Region title and a trip to national semifinals. Jenkins became the first player in SRU history to earn first team All-America honors when she was named to the IWLCA first team. She was also named to second team honors on the USA Lacrosse team. Rotter picked up third team honors from the IWLCA and Ventresca was named to the USA Lacrosse honorable mention team.

Jenkins, a junior from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, picks up her second straight Preseason All-America nod after being named to the second team entering the 2025 season. Rotter, a senior from Beverly Hills, Michigan, and Ventresca, a junior from Rochester, N.Y., both earn their first career Preseason All-America award.

The individual preseason honors follow a pair of team preseason honors for Slippery Rock, which was ranked No. 8 in the coaches association preseason poll and No. 5 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine preseason poll.

The lofty rankings come after Slippery Rock set a new program record for wins with 18 victories in 2025. The Rock went 10-0 on the way to winning the PSAC West title and bounced back from a PSAC title game defeat at West Chester to upset the undefeated No. 1 seed Golden Rams to win the Atlantic Region title, the first regional title in program history. SRU came up just short of a trip to the national championship game, falling 15-13 to Adelphi in the semifinals.

Jenkins was named the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year last spring and enters her junior season a as a two-time All-PSAC and All-Region defender. In two seasons, she has racked up 64 caused turnovers, 136 draw controls and 66 ground balls. She also tallied one goal on her only career shot and handed out one assist. Jenkins has started all 40 games of the last two seasons.

Rotter made a huge impact at SRU last spring in her first season with the program after transferring in from Notre Dame College. She put up 82 points with 53 goals and 29 assists while also causing 25 turnovers and grabbing 20 ground balls. Her 82 points rank second in SRU single-season history while the 53 goals were the fourth-most in a single-season at The Rock.

Ventresca broke the SRU single-season record for goalie wins last spring and posted a 16-1 overall record with an 8.83 goals against average and a .408 save percentage. She enters this spring with more than 1,000 career minutes in goal and she ranks fourth all-time at SRU in wins by a goalie (16) and ninth in saves (110).

Slippery Rock will face one of the toughest early season schedules in the region, opening the spring at home Feb. 18 against a good Ashland University team before playing back-to-back nationally ranked opponents with a trip to No. 4 West Chester for a regional title game rematch Feb. 21 and a home game against No. 18 Grand Valley State March 1.
