NFHCA Top 10

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Slippery Rock University field hockey team was ranked seventh in Division II, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced Tuesday with the release of its updated national poll.

The Rock maintained their No. 7 ranking in the nation for a second consecutive week and have now been listed in the NFHCA national rankings for five straight weeks overall, marking the second longest stretch of consecutive weeks a SRU has ever been continually ranked in the NFHCA poll.

While Slippery Rock suffered its first two losses of the season last week, both defeats came against ranked teams in No. 1 Kutztown and defending national champions No. 4 Shippensburg. Slippery Rock currently holds an 8-2 overall record.

Between Kutztown and Shippensburg in this week's poll was once again No. 2 East Stroudsburg and No. 3 Newberry.

In front of Slippery Rock were No. 5 Bloomsburg and No. 6 West Chester. Saint Anselm, Indiana (Pa.) and Assumption rounded out this week's top 10 behind The Rock.

With seven games remaining in the regular season, The Rock's eight wins in 2026 already ties this year's team for the seventh winningest season in the program's 54-year history as well as being the most victories in a single season at SRU since a 10-win year in 2017.

Slippery Rock enters competition this week ranking fourth in the nation in goals per game (3.40), fourth in penalty corners per game (10.00), fourth in points per game (9.10) and seventh in scoring margin (1.90).

SRU steps away from Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference competition to host D'Youville 4 p.m. Wednesday at Mihalik-Thompson before returning to league play noon Saturday with a home contest versus East Stroudsburg.
