LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University pole vaulter Allie Taylor was named the Female Field Athlete of the Week when the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its weekly indoor track & field awards Tuesday.
 
Taylor, a senior from Fremont, Ohio, was recognized for her efforts at the YSU Collegiate Invitational last Friday at Youngstown State.
 
She took second overall in the pole vault and was the top non-Division I finisher after clearing a season-best and NCAA provisional height of 3.73 meters. That effort makes her the only PSAC athlete to hit the NCAA standard in the women's pole vault this winter.
 
Taylor currently ranks No. 1 in the Atlantic Region and No. 21 in Division II with her performance.
 
Slippery Rock returns to action this Saturday at the Ashland Invitational hosted by Ashland University.
