NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS
Dating back to the 2010 season, Slippery Rock holds a commanding 41-23 (.641) record against non-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference teams. SRU went 3-2 against teams from outside the PSAC a year ago with wins over Adelphi, D'Youville and Mercyhurst as well as losses to Pace and Newberry.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME
56 of The Rock's 90 wins (62.2 percent) over the last 12 years have come at the friendly confines of Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

SRU IN SEASON OPENERS
Slippery Rock is 6-6 in its last 12 season-openers. Most recently, The Rock opened 2024 with a 2-1 victory over Frostburg State. Thursday's game marks just the fourth time in the last 10 years that Slippery Rock has hosted its season-opener.

SUNDAY TICKET
Slippery Rock is 9-3 in games played against non-PSAC schools on Sundays. SRU plays two games on Sunday this season against Pace and Converse (9/14).

CATCH THEM WHILE YOU CAN
Following The Rock's back-to-back home games to open 2025, SRU embarks on a four-game road trip. Slippery Rock has not played four consecutive games away from home since 2011.

REVESZ TAKES CHARGE
Missy Revesz was promoted to head coach in the offseason following the departure of Rayell Wallace, who took the same position at Shippensburg University. The 2025 season marks the eighth year in which Revesz has been on the sidelines at The Rock.

A pillar of stability inside the program, Revesz was previously the top assistant for the Slippery Rock field hockey program since joining former head coach Julie Swiney's staff in 2018. Upon Swiney's departure from The Rock in 2020, Revesz was retained as an assistant coach on Wallace's staff for the past five seasons.

Joining Revesz on the sidelines in her inaugural season officially in charge of the program is assistant coach Alex Pennington, who brings a winning pedigree with her after helping guide Bucknell to three Patriot League Tournament appearances (2022-24) and before that as an assistant for a Shippensburg team that won the 2021 Division II national championship.

RETURNING FIREPOWER
While Slippery Rock will be tasked with replacing an overwhelming chunk of its offensive production from last year (17 of 23 goals), four athletes do return that tallied at least one point a season ago.

• Hilary Hoffman: SRU's lone returning All-PSAC athlete, Hoffman has started every game she's suited up for in a Rock unfirm (32) on the way to compiling 18 total points in two seasons on six goals and six assists with 38 of her 61 shots being on target. She finished 2024 with two goals and four assists.

• Madison Shomo: The junior forward has proven to be remarkably consistent in her first two years at The Rock. A starter in 23 of her 32 career games played, Shomo has missed just one game at SRU while scoring two goals on eight shots in back-to-back years and tallying an assist as a sophomore.

• Grace Williams: The only returning sophomore to have notched her first career goal as a freshman courtesy of a score on the road at Shippensburg in what was one of her eight appearances in 2024.

• Sammy Graci: A veteran of 45 career games played – including 20 starts – Graci earned the most playing time of her career as a junior in 2024 when she appeared in all 16 games while making 13 starts and totaling three defensive saves to go with one goal.

NEW FACES BEHIND THE MASK
For the first time in four seasons, Slippery Rock will be breaking in a new goalie after the graduation of Grace Burker, who started 66 games before leaving SRU ranked third in program history in both wins and saves.

The Rock's goalkeeping duties in 2025 will fall to the talented, but inexperienced, duo of sophomore Emily Newton and junior Leah Riegling. Newton is yet to appear in an official NCAA game while Riegling's only collegiate experience consists of a 30-minute second half appearance in The Rock's 2023 9-0 win over Roberts Wesleyan.

WINS COME FROM STOPS, NOT JUST SCORES
While SRU will be forced to replace the overwhelming majority of its offense, The Rock returns an abundance of defenders and midfielders.

• A constant on The Rock's back line throughout her career, Megan Rude has been a fixture on SRU's defense in each of her first three seasons. Rude is yet to miss a game in her collegiate career with 50 straight appearances including 32 consecutive starts. She made one defensive save a year ago.

• Senior Christina Clymer established herself as one of SRU's top athletes in her first season at The Rock in 2024. The Ball State transfer started all 16 games, totaling six defensive saves while placing eight of her 14 shots on target offensively. She closed the year ranked 10th in the nation in defensive saves.

• Graci and sophomore Roz Mikulak combined for five defensive saves while starting 13 and 15 games, respectively.

• Riley Cloude made an immediate contribution to SRU by starting 15 of 16 games during her freshman season in 2024.

ROUNDING OUT THE RETURNERS
The Rock also returns seven others were on the roster last season in juniors Julia Boettler, Paige Shannon, Lacey Berghorn, Lucy Hutchinson and Haylie Sucharski as well as the sophomore duo of Payton Kane and Coral Piramo.

PORTAL SHOPPING
Slippery Rock brought in a pair of transfers over the offseason in sophomore midfielder/back Ava Masorti and redshirt sophomore back Brooke Page.

Masorti played in 15 games as a rookie in 2024 at Converse while Page comes to SRU after two seasons on the roster of Division I Central Michigan University.

FAMILY TRADITION
Page, who was an all-state defender at Northwestern Lehigh High School prior to committing to Central Michigan, is carrying on a family lineage at Slippery Rock. Not only are her parents both Slippery Rock graduates, but her sisters Courtney and Taylor were members of the SRU field hockey program prior to graduating.
