A SUCCESSFUL NON-CONFERENCE RUN
Saturday's match against Shippensburg will be The Rock's final non-conference bout of the regular season. Already assured of the program's sixth winning non-conference record in the last 11 years, a win over the Raiders would give SRU an 8-5 record outside of the PSAC West and match the 2016, 2017 and 2023 Rock teams for the most total non-conference wins since 2014.

HALFWAY HOME
Despite not having played a home match yet, Saturday's contest will officially push The Rock past the halfway mark of its 2025 regular season schedule (14 of 27).

QUICK STARTERS
Slippery Rock has won the first set in nine of its 13 matches this season. SRU is also 7-5 in the second set of matches so far in 2025.

FIFTH SET BLUES
Of The Rock's six losses this season, three have come in five-set bouts.

BOUNCE-BACK MATCH ON DECK
Callie Chevalier is coming off an uncharacteristically off match against Clarion in which she had seven kills on a -.061 attack percentage. However, if history is any indication we can expect a strong bounce-back from the senior outside hitter. Chevalier finished with a negative attack percentage just twice last season and following each of those outings she recorded 16 kills in victories over Fairmont State and Edinboro.

Chevalier has enjoyed a great start to her final season with 150 kills (2.94 per set) on a .161 attack percentage alongside 25 blocks, 146 digs (2.86) and six aces. She has eight kill-dig double-doubles this season.

VONDERHAAR 10TH ON D2 BLOCKS LIST
Lauren VonderHaar enters the Shippensburg match ranked 10th in the nation in total blocks with 60 (15 solo / 45 assisted) Following a three-block match at Clarion. Her 1.18 block per set average also ranks 35th among all Division II athletes.

In addition to her dominant defensive presence, VonderHaar is also already up to 92 kills, on a .240 attack percentage. VonderHaar has recorded over 100 kills in a year twice previously in her college career, but it took 23 matches in both 2023 and 2024 to hit triple digit kill totals.

YOST PILING UP THE ACES
Jaeden Yost has served 10 aces in The Rock's last six matches, including a pair of perfect serves in the Clarion loss. On the season, SRU's senior setter leads the team with 16 aces on the year all the while distributing 192 assists (3.76 per set) and making 120 digs (2.35). She is on a run of six straight assist-dig double-doubles.

She'll open the Shippensburg match needing six aces to move up to 10th in program history for aces in a career. Yost currently sits 14th with 129 aces.

AN EFFICIENT RUN FOR NALBACH
Since being inserted into the starting lineup over the last seven matches, Victoria Nalbach has logged 36 kills on an impressive .304 attack percentage while registering 22 blocks courtesy of multi-block efforts in all seven starts.

YOUTH MOVEMENT
Through the opening half of The Rock's 2025 season, a large contingent of underclassmen have proven critical to SRU's success.

• Sophomore libero Kara Pasquale has seamlessly taken over for the now-graduated Kate Lachendro-Biery. She's played every set in 2025, making 238 digs (4.67) per set, ranking eighth in the nation in total digs.

• Sophomore Marley Annis, freshman Emry Rumbaugh and sophomore Gwen McCarthy make up three of The Rock's top five attack leaders.

• Annis ranks third on the team in kills (81) in addition to being second in aces (15) and fourth in digs (103). Rumbaugh is right behind Annis in terms of total kills with 77 on a .179 attack percentage all the while tallying 25 blocks, which is tied for third at The Rock. McCarthy rounds out the trio with 49 kills in 10 matches.

• Sophomore setter Paityn Krause enters the weekend leading The Rock in assists (276) while trailing only Annis and Yost in aces with 12.

• Sophomore Addison Jones has racked up 26 blocks, the second highest total on the team behind VonderHaar, with seven multi-block matches in her eight appearances this year.

• Rookie Leah Schreckengost is starting to establish herself as a serving specialist with six aces over the first five appearances in her collegiate career.

Five Rock athletes have combined to record 21 double-doubles on the year with Chevalier leading the way at eight.
