LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock was unable to maintain a second-quarter lead in an eventual 2-1 non-conference loss Wednesday at Frostburg State University.

THE ROCK IN PSAC OPENERS
Slippery Rock will be looking to win its first PSAC game of the season for the first time since defeating West Chester University, 4-3, in 2017.

WELCOME HOME
After playing four straight road games, Saturday's contest starts a stretch of contests for The Rock in which four of their next six outings will be played at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

ANOTHER GAME, ANOTHER GOAL FOR HUTCHINSON
In what is becoming a reoccurring theme in the 2025 season, Lucy Hutchinson once again found the back of the cage to highlight The Rock's efforts at Frostburg State for what was her fifth goal of the season. Hutchinson has tallied a goal in all but one game so far this year.

SCORING EARLY AND OFTEN
With five goals in The Rock's first six games, Hutchinson is the quickest SRU athlete to post five goals in a season since Jessie Trube scored five goals in the first five games of the 2021 campaign.

Dating back to 2003 – as far back SRU single-game statistics are available – Hutchinson is the second fastest Rock athlete to post five goals in a season.

1. Jessie Trube: 5 Games (2021)
2. Lucy Hutchinson: 6 Games (2025)
3. Kayla Ulrich: 7 Games (2017)
t4. Erin Roland: 8 Games (2022)
t4. Megan McKay: 8 Games (2016)
t4. Lindsay Brown: 8 Games (2013)

NEWTON HITS DOUBLE DIGIT SAVES AGAIN
For a second consecutive game, Rock goalkeeper Emily Newton registered double-digit save production with 11 stops against Frostburg State. The 11 saves come following a 13-save game against nationally ranked Shippensburg.

On the year, Newton has started three games with 39 saves, a .812 save percentage and a 2.43 Goals Against Average. While there's still at least 11 games left in the season, Newton is on pace to become just the second Rock goalie in the last 22 years – and first since Courtney Lee in 2012 - to compile a save percentage of at least .800.

• Leah Riegling serves as Newton's backup. She's started three games this season, going 2-0 with eight saves, a .800 save percentage and a 0.80 GAA.

• Slippery Rock welcomes Millersville ranked eighth in Division II (34 teams) in save percentage (.814) with Newton ranking seventh individually in saves per game (9.75).

• Haylie Sucharski registered SRU's lone defensive save this season with a stop against nationally ranked Shippensburg.

ROUNDING OUT THE ATTACK
• Supplementing Hutchinson's goal production has been Hoffman, Coral Piramo and Madison Shomo with one score apiece. Hoffman has also added two assists to rank second on The Rock behind Hutchinson in total points with four.

• Roz Mikulak and Grace Williams round out SRU's point scorers through the early stages of the season with two assists and one assist, respectively.

• Hutchinson also paces The Rock in shots on goal with seven. The quartet of Hoffman, Piramo and Riely Cloude have each placed fourth shots on target.

• Shomo (3), Mikulak (3) and Grace Williams (2) all have multiple shots on goal as well.

GETTING GOING EARLY
While Slippery Rock is yet to allow a first quarter goal in 2025, it is also yet to score a goal in the opening 15 minutes this year. Millersville has scored seven goals in the first quarter of games this year.
