SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University football program will partner with the Pittsburgh Passion women's professional football team to host a girls' flag football showcase and a Halloween Classic women's flag football 5v5 tournament Oct. 25.
 
Both events will take place Saturday, Oct. 25 at the McFarland Recreational Sports Complex (MAC fields) on the campus of Slippery Rock University. The ID camp and showcase for girls in grades 8-12 will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the women's 5v5 tournament will run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

GIRLS TALENT ID CAMP AND SHOWCASE
• Date: Saturday, Oct. 25
• Check-In: 9:30 a.m.
• Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Location: McFarland Recreational Sports Complex (MAC Fields)
• Who: Girls in grades 8-12
• Cost: $75 per player
• Need to Bring: Girls should bring cleats, mouthpieces and flags (if you have them)
• Description: Girls will have the chance to showcase their abilities in front of area colleges and will learn to play their position with an emphasis on technique and fundamentals while competing against some of the top talent in the area in a high energy environment. The camp blends both skill development and competitive play and includes athletic and skill testing for speed, agility, power and fundaments, position-specific drills catered to flag football, one-on-one competition and evaluation and team-based competitive tournament play. The camp will be facilitated by collegiate coaches and professional athletes from the Pittsburgh Passion WFA Pro Flag Football National Championship team. All campers will receive a swag bag and a coupon to the SGA Bookstore at SRU.
 
HALLOWEEN CLASSIC WOMEN'S 5v5 FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
• Date: Saturday, Oct. 25
• Check-In: 2:15 p.m.
• Coaches Meeting: 2:30 p.m.
• Tournament Time: 3-7:30 p.m.
• Location: McFarland Recreational Sports Complex (MAC Fields)
• Who: Adults 18+ (college students and adult women)
• Cost: $150 per team (team size is 5-10 athletes)
• Description: Get ready for a high energy day of competition, camaraderie and a celebration of women's flag football. Slippery Rock is proud to host the inaugural 5v5 tournament, bringing together talent from local college club programs and adult female flag players across the region. Whether you are representing your university or your local squad, this tournament offers a chance to showcase and polish up your skills, compete at a high level in a fun atmosphere and connect with fellow athletes who share your passion for the game. Games will be officiated and will follow IFAF 5v5 rules and format. All participants will receive a Rock Football swag bag, snacks, water and a coupon to the SGA Bookstore at SRU.
• Tournament Details: Round-robin pool play followed by a single elimination tournament. Officials will be present and will use IFAF non-contact rules. Music, concessions and bleachers will be available for fans. Prizes will be awarded for division champions, MVPs and the most "Halloween Spirited" team.
