SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University track & field and cross country programs will host their annual Alumni Race and Picnic Saturday, August 23.
 
The event will begin with the annual Alumni 5K Race on the campus course that begins and ends by the entrance to the Jim Egli Soccer Field. Registration begins at 10:15 a.m. with the race set for an 11 a.m. start.  Alumni will receive a 50-meter head start for each year that has passed since their graduation.
 
Following the race, a free picnic will take place at the SRU Ski Lodge. Friends and family are welcome to join. There will be burgers, hot dogs, sides and beverages provided.  
 
Registration for the event is free, but we ask that all alumni please RSVP online in advance so we can ensure we have enough food for the event. To register, please click HERE.

The Rock cross country teams will officially open the 2025 season Sept. 6 at the Doug Watts Open hosted by Edinboro. To view the full 2025 cross country schedule, click HERE.
