Rock multis hit pair of NCAA marks at Susquehanna

Logan Anderson and Zack Duda both hit the NCAA provisional standard in the decathlon to lead The Rock's multi-event athletes at the Riverhawk Multi Meet that wrapped up Friday evening from Susquehanna University.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Slippery Rock University multi-event athletes Logan Anderson and Zack Duda both met the NCAA provisional standard in the decathlon to lead the Slippery Rock University track & field teams at the Riverhawk Multi Meet that wrapped up Friday evening from Susquehanna University.
 
Slippery Rock send four men and four women to compete at Susquehanna as part of a three-meet weekend for The Rock. A portion of the rest of the team will compete Saturday at Westminster College, while another group of SRU athletes will compete Saturday and Sunday at Bucknell University.
 
Anderson led the way for The Rock at Susquehanna by placing third overall in the seeded section of the decathlon with an NCAA provisional score of 6,591 points. Duda followed closely in fifth place with 6,461 points in a strong field that included eight men that recorded a final score above the NCAA Division II provisional standard of 6,294 points.
 
Ethan Folmer took 14th in the seeded section of the decathlon with a score of 5,826 points, while Jacob Stucchio was fourth in the unseeded section with a score of 5,553 points.
 
The top four scores in the PSAC this spring were all recorded in the seeded section of the event with Anderson's score ranked second in the PSAC and Duda's score ranked fourth. Folmer's mark ranks seventh in the PSAC this spring and Stucchio sits ninth in the league.
 
Leighanne Swan led the SRU women with a career-best effort of 3,939 points to take second in the unseeded section of the heptathlon. Maddy Miller recorded the second-highest score for The Rock with her 3,856 points placing her 11th in the seeded section. Autumn Wyatt took third in the unseeded section with 3,756 points and Kate Walasavage was seventh with 3,079 points.
 
Swan's score currently ranks fourth among all athletes in the PSAC this spring, while Miller ranks eighth, Wyatt ranks ninth and Walasavage ranks 11th.
