Slippery Rock is 1-0 after winning its season opener for the 16th straight season with a 17-1 win last week at Findlay. The Rock are coming off a program record 15 wins that included a trip to the PSAC semifinals and a final regional ranking of No. 5 in the Atlantic Region last spring. D'Youville went 7-10 last spring and lost in the semifinals of the ECC championship game to No. 2 Mercy, 15-3. The Saints had their opener canceled and will be playing their first game of the season Saturday at SRU.

Slippery Rock jumped out to a 10-2 halftime lead and rolled to a 18-3 win over the Saints last March in The Rock's season opener at D'Youville. SRU finished the game with advantages of 24-8 in shots on goal, 15-9 in draw controls, 9-2 in caused turnovers and 12-11 in ground balls.
Camryn Whipple paced the SRU attack with five points.Â

WINS IN 16 STRAIGHT SEASON OPENERS
With Sunday's win at Findlay, Slippery Rock extended its streak of victories in the first game of the season to 16 consecutive years. The Rock have not lost the first game of the season since 2009.
HOME OPENER WIN STREAK
Slippery Rock has won its first home game of the year in each of the last 12 seasons. The last time The Rock lost their home opener was March 15, 2011, to No. 8 Gannon University, a 13-10 defeat.
LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock scored six goals in the first quarter and cruised to a 17-1 win on the road at Findlay Sunday in the 2025 opener. SRU got points from 12 different players in the game and saw multiple-point efforts from seven different players.

SCOUTING THE SAINTS
D'Youville is led by head coach Kate Manzella as she is entering her ninth season at the helm. Manzella helped the Saints to a 7-10 record last spring.
The Saints had their season opener canceled Feb. 22 against Northwood University. Madison Handley returns as D'Youville's point-leader from 2024, where she scored 51 goals and dished out 14 assists for 65 total points. The Saints also return their second leading-scorer from last spring, Madison Buck. Buck is coming off a campaign where she scored 32 goals and handed out 13 assists for 45 total points. Â Brinn Stworzydlak started all 17 games in goal last season and posted a 6-9 record with a 13.44 goals against average and a .443 save percentage.

Slippery Rock will head to No. 8 East Stroudsburg Wednesday, March 5, for a 2 p.m. start to open a four-game road swing. The Rock will then travel south to play three straight road games against tough opponents with trips to Limestone, Newberry and Lander over spring break.
