ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University women's indoor track & field team won six events and hit 12 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference automatic qualifying marks Friday night at the Mount Union Tune-Up hosted by the University of Mount Union.

Friday's meet wrapped up just before 11 p.m. on the women's side while the men's competition continued later into the evening with multiple field events still in action.

Samantha Gilbert led The Rock women with a pair of victories and PSAC marks. She won the 200-meter dash in 25.27 seconds on the 200-meter flat track. After a track conversion, that effort will come down to just under 25 seconds and mark a new career-best for the senior sprinter. Gilbert also took the top spot in the long jump with a leap of 5.48 meters.

SRU won both horizontal jumps with
Alice Bogia picking up the win in the triple jump with a leap of 10.80 meters as The Rock swept the top four places in the triple jump.

SRU also swept both throwing events Friday night with the shot put trio of
Olivia Heckman,
Savannah Schneck and
Becca Martin leading the way by sweeping the top three places with three throws all over 13 meters. Heckman won the event at 13.51 meters, followed by Schneck with a career-best toss of 13.32 meters and Martin with a throw of 13.13 meters. The Rock now have three of the four women in the PSAC that have marks over 13 meters this winter.

Schneck also claimed the top spot in the weight throw with a toss of 16.19 meters, while
Autumn Stewart was third with a mark of 15.52 meters.

Pole vaulters
Allie Taylor and
Addison Lyles rounded out the PSAC marks in the field with Taylor placing sixth with a clearance of 3.57 meters and Lyles finishing seventh with a clearance of 3.47 meters.

Regan Johnson dipped under the PSAC standard in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.88 seconds in the prelims before placing second in the finals in 7.90 seconds.

Chaley Younkin led the way in the 60-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 9.11 seconds in the prelims before placing fourth in the finals.

The last PSAC mark on the track came from freshman
Tatiana Holt, who took fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:24.83, locking up a spot in the PSAC meet next week in her final qualifying opportunity.
SRU's wins were rounded out on the track by
Annasophia Stauffer, who took the top spot in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.97.
