GENEVA, Ohio –
Samantha Gilbert broke her own program record in the 60-meter dash for the second week in a row to lead the Slippery Rock University women's track & field team to 17 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, two event wins and 26 top-10 finishes Saturday at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games hosted by the SPIRE Academy.

Gilbert lowered her SRU record in the 60-meter dash by one one-hundredth of a second for the second consecutive week with an NCAA provisional mark of 7.63 seconds in the prelims. She ran 7.68 seconds in the finals, but still held off the field to win the competition. Gilbert's program record was 7.65 seconds two weeks ago, but she has clocked times of 7.64 and 7.63 seconds in each of the last two meets.

She was joined in reaching the PSAC standard in the 60m by
Regan Johnson, who finished fourth in 7.84 seconds. Johnson also clocked a PSAC mark in the 200-meter dash with an eighth place finish in 25.89 seconds as she finished one spot behind teammate
Jianna Long, who was seventh in 25.66 seconds. Long closed out the meet by teaming with
Annasophia Stauffer,
Shannon McCullough and
Lydia Reed to place fourth in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:08.45.

The second event win for SRU Saturday also came on the track with the distance medley relay team of
Tatiana Holt,
Lily Moore,
Lexie Wyant and
Jennifer Cichra posting a time of 13:23.57 on the way to a victory. Cichra also reached the PSAC standard in the 3,000-meter run with a 13th place finish in 10:34.60.

The final PSAC effort on the track came from
Chaley Younkin, who took fifth in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles in 9.20 seconds.

Slippery Rock tallied five PSAC marks in the throws, including three in the shot put and two in the weight throw.
Becca Martin led the effort in the shot put with a runner-up finish and a toss of 13.31 meters.
Olivia Heckman was third at 13.13 meters and
Savannah Schneck was sixth at 12.28 meters. Schneck also took sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 16.45 meters with
Autumn Stewart following in ninth place with a throw of 14.49 meters.

Aleks Brozeski and
Rylee Long each met the PSAC standard in the triple jump with Brozeski placing sixth with a leap of 11.23 meters and Long following in eighth with amark of 11.11 meters.
Baylee Blauser led the way in the long jump and was the highest-finishing SRU athlete in a jumping event with a third place showing and a leap of 5.53 meters.

Allie Taylor and
Addison Lyles both cleared 3.35 meters in the pole vault to place fifth and sixth, respectively, and
Paige Griffith rounded out the PSAC marks in the field with a seventh place showing in the high jump after a clearance of 1.60 meters.

Slippery Rock will return to action next Friday evening at the University of Mount Union for a last-chance qualifier before the PSAC Championships March 1-2.
