A LOOK AT THE SENIORS
#5 Jaeden Yost: Setter – Springfield, Ohio
• Yost will be playing in her 109th consecutive collegiate match Friday, which is the second most in SRU history. A member of The Rock's setter rotation all four years of her career, Yost is ranked eighth in program history in career assists (2,053) and 10th in aces (137). Off the court, she is a three-time PSAC Scholar Athlete and two-time CSC Academic All-District selection who is majoring in social work.
Â
• As a senior, Yost has played in every set while starting eight of 23 matches. She leads SRU in aces with 24 while ranking second in assists (349 / 3.84 per set) and third in digs (199 / 2.19).
Â
#9 Arielle Walter: Libero – Burton, Ohio
• Walter came to The Rock from Berskhire High School and has appeared in 34 matches over the last four years. She has earned a career-high in playing time as a senior and has recorded personal bests of 61 digs and four aces over the course of the season. Academically, she is a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete as a marketing major.
Â
#15 Callie Chevalier: Outside Hitter - Charlton, New York
• Chevalier has started 88 of 97 matches played over the last four years at The Rock. A standout through the duration of her collegiate career, she is currently ranked 13th in program history in kills (902) and is one of just seven athletes to have recorded at least 900 kills and 175 blocks at SRU. Off the court, she is a two-time PSAC Scholar Athlete and one-time CSC Academic All-District choice who is majoring in health and physical education.
Â
• Chevalier's senior campaign has seen SRU's top outside hitter start all 23 matches and play each of The Rock's 91 sets while going for 258 kills (2.84 per set / .128), 246 digs (2.70 per set), 42 blocks and nine aces.
Â
#17 Lauren VonderHaar: Middle Blocker - Aurora, Ohio
• One of the top middle hitters to have ever played at Slippery Rock, VonderHaar has started 79 of her 91 matches played over the last four years and will leave SRU as the program's career leader in blocks as well as having recorded three of the top seven single-season block totals in Slippery Rock history. Academically, she has been named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete three times and a CSC Academic All-District honoree once while majoring in business management.
Â
• VonderHaar has an enjoyed a stellar end to her career as a senior has posted personal-bests in kills (177), aces (12) and digs (62) to go with 116 total blocks (36 solo / 80 assisted) – seven away from a new career-high – and a .266 attack percentage. Across all of Division II, VonderHaar ranks 11th in total blocks and 16th in blocks per set.
CAREER YEARS EVERYWHERE
Outside of The Rock's star-studded senior class, the majority of Slippery Rock's 2025 roster entered the season with relatively little in-match experience. The group has responded by turning in a slew of personal bests. Â
Â
• As she did during her freshman season in 2024,
Paityn Krause is once again serving as one of The Rock's two primary setters. With a minimum of four matches to play this season, Krause has already improved on her freshman-year stats in virtually every category including assists (483), assists per set (5.31), aces (23) and digs (179) while playing all 23 matches with 15 starts.
Â
•
Kara Pasquale took over as Slippery Rock's top libero this season after spending her freshman year behind
Kate Lachendro-Biery, SRU's all-time leader in digs. She has done a superb job replacing Lachendro-Biery. Pasquale has spent the season consistently ranked among the Division II leaders in both digs and digs per set. She'll enter the weekend with 412 digs at a rate of 4.79 per set through 22 appearances.
Â
•
Victoria Nalbach's junior year has easily been her best in a Rock uniform. Nalbach has drawn 13 starts across 20 matches played on the way to turning in career-highs in both kills (74) and blocks 37. She has earned her 74 kills on an efficient .244 attack percentage.
Â
• After not appearing a match last year,
Ava Haynes and
Addison Jones have both made significant contributions in 2025. Jones is tied for third on the team in blocks with 42 over 16 appearances (10 starts) while Haynes has totaled 64 kills and 27 blocks over 18 matches. Â
Â
•
Gwen McCarthy, who appeared in just 26 sets as a freshman, has become one of The Rock's top attackers as a sophomore with 94 kills (.144) in her 18 matches played (52 sets).
Â
• After playing just over half of The Rock's matches as a freshman in 2024,
Marley Annis has been a mainstay in Slippery Rock's lineup, appearing in 22 matches, starting 12 times and playing 85 of a possible 91 sets. The increase in playing time has seen an uptick in production in the form of 94 kills, 21 aces and 166 digs (1.95 dps). She ranks third on the team in aces.
Â
ROOKIE YEAR TO REMEMBER
Emry Rumbaugh quickly acquainted herself to the collegiate game as the freshman has started 16 of her 22 matches played en route to tallying 162 kills (1.88 kps / .181) and 48 blocks. With four matches remaining in the regular season, Rumbaugh has already amassed the ninth-highest kill total by a freshman at SRU over the last decade.

RECORD BOOK UPDATE
Entering the UPJ match, a trio of Slippery Rock's seniors find themselves continuing to climb SRU career record book in several statistical categories.
Â
• With four blocks in last week's match at California, VonderHaar broke Laurie Flynn's 31-year-old record to become The Rock's new career leader in blocks. She'll start the weekend with 374 blocks.
Â
• VonderHaar's 116 total blocks (36 solo / 80 assisted) this year are also the ninth-highest single-season total in program history.
Â
• Already one of just eight athletes in program history to have recorded 2,000 career assists (2,053), Yost will more than likely move past Haley Defibaugh (2014-17) and into seventh place on SRU's career assists ledger.
Â
• Additionally, Yost's 137 career aces currently rank 10th all-time at The Rock – three away from tying Nikki St. Antoine (1993-96) for ninth place.
Â
• With 902 kills to her name, Chevalier sits in 13th place all-time at SRU, 47 behind Leah Jones (2013-16) for 12th.
Â
• Joining the seniors with her name already in The Rock's record book is Krause, who ranks 17th in program history for assists in a career with 718. While not the near certainty that it is of Yost moving up SRU's all-time assist leaderboard, Krause is within striking distance – 49 assists – of tying Peytan Gullickson (2021-23) for 16th place.Â
