GILBERT, Ariz. - The Slippery Rock University women's tennis team was well-represented in the first set of Division II rankings for the 2025-26 season, released recently by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Highlighting the group are Alissia Kivi and Nicole Kempton, who will enter the spring season as the No. 12 doubles team in the nation with Kivi also being slotted 46th in the national singles poll.

The Rock's top doubles team have enjoyed a strong start to the 2025-26 season with a 9-6 overall record. Kivi and Kempton took runner-up honors at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships while qualifying for the prestigious ITA Cup. The duo holds a 6-3 record against Division II competition.

Kivi, the 2024-25 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division and ITA Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year, has also began her sophomore season with nine singles wins in her first 10 matches. The lone blemish to her singles mark this year came in the quarterfinals of the ITA Atlantic Region Championships against Filippa Larsson – the 16th-ranked singles athlete in Division II.

In addition to the national rankings, SRU also has a plethora of representatives in the Atlantic Region rankings.

Kivi and Kempton are the second-ranked doubles team in the Atlantic Region in addition to Slippery Rock having four athletes listed among the Atlantic Region singles top-20.

Heading into the spring portion of the season, Kivi will be the No. 5 singles athlete in the Atlantic Region followed in the back half of the top-10 by Kempton (No. 8 / 7-2) and reigning back-to-back PSAC West Athlete of the Year Amaia Balaguer Brau (No. 9 / 7-3). Dari Sakhanova rounds out SRU's singles representatives at No. 11 (5-3).
