Slippery Rock University Athletics

PITTSBURGH – Members of the Slippery Rock University women's tennis team continued the individual portion of its season this weekend over two days at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
 
All eight members of The Rock's roster took part in this weekend's Carnegie Mellon Invitational, which was SRU's second trip to CMU this fall. Joining The Rock were athletes from host Carnegie Mellon, Case Western Reserve and Indiana (Pa.).
 
The highlight of The Rock's time at the invite was singles performances that saw SRU athletes combine to win 11 of their 15 matches (.733).
 
Nadia Rodewald, Noemi Gordan and Lucia Garcia Cortes all went 2-0 in singles play over the weekend, while Madison Warren won her long singles bout.
 
The Rock's doubles entries featured Rodewald and Nicole Kempton winning two of their three matches, improving their record as a pairing on the season to a healthy 5-2.
 
Slippery Rock is scheduled to finish the individual portion of its season when it sends a strong contingent to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic Region Championships Oct. 15-18. The 2026 ITA Atlantic Region Championships will be hosted by Bloomsburg.
