LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock lost a close five-set match to Shippensburg University (25-22, 9-25, 25-13, 18-25, 18-16) Sept. 25 at Morrow Field House.

NOT ALLOWING ANYTHING EASY
Through 14 matches, Slippery Rock is limiting opponents to a PSAC-low 1.25 aces per set. Additionally, the opposition has compiled a .153 attack percentage against SRU – the seventh lowest percentage in the 16-team PSAC.

MATCH 100 ON DECK FOR YOST
When Jaeden Yost takes the court against Seton Hill on Friday she will be playing in her 100th career match at The Rock. A pillar of stability inside the program, SRU's senior setter is yet to miss a match in her collegiate career. Since the 2008 season, there has been just one Slippery Rock athlete to appear in more consecutive matches than Yost: Erica Selfridge played in 115 straight matches (2021-24).

One of the top setters in program history, Yost enters the Seton Hill match ranked ninth at SRU for assists in a career (1,920) and 14th in aces (130). So far this season, Yost has served a team-high 17 aces while ranking second in assists (216 / 3.86) and third in digs (127 / 2.27).

DEFENSIVE DUO HIGH IN NCAA RANKINGS
Middle blocker Lauren VonderHaar and libero Kara Pasquale are ranked among the nation's best in their position's primary statistical categories.

VonderHaar enters the Seton Hill match ranked eighth in Division II in total blocks with 70 (17 solo / 53 assisted) and 24th in blocks per set (1.25) while Pasquale is 13th in the country in total digs with 265.

Not just defensive stalwarts, the pair both contribute heavily on The Rock's offense as well. VonderHaar is second on the team in kills with 105 on a .248 attack percentage and Pasquale has served six of her eight aces in 2025 over SRU's last three matches.

VonderHaar needs just seven more blocks to pass Louise Schultz (2004-07 / 334) for third on the program's career block list.

CHEVALIER IS A KEY
Slippery Rock has proven to be a very tough team to beat when Callie Chevalier gets going on the attack. SRU has gone 7-3 in matches this season that Chevalier records at least 10 kills in, but 0-4 when the senior outside hitter is held to a single-digit kill total.

The Rock's linchpin to success has tallied a team-best 159 kills (2.84 per set / .158%) through 14 starts this season. Not just a force on the attack, Chevalier is also second on the team in both total blocks (29) and digs (159 / 2.84 per set).

ROUNDING OUT THE ATTACK
While Chevalier and VonderHaar have combined for 41.6 percent of Slippery Rock's kills this year (264 / 635), SRU's attack is hardly two dimensional as a pack of hitters behind the senior duo have proven more than capable of carrying the offense when called on.

• Freshman Emry Rumbaugh, who has started six consecutive matches, has totaled 84 kills on a .180 attack percentage over her first 13 collegiate matches. Rumbaugh averages 7.8 kills while hitting .211 in her eight starts this year.

• Marley Annis is right behind Rumbaugh for third on the team in kills with 83 all the while having served 16 aces – the second highest total on the team behind Yost.

• Victoria Nalbach has racked up 31 of her 52 kills in the last five matches. Her .291 attack percentage on the season overall ranks 14th inside the PSAC.

• Gwen McCarthy (49) and Kaitlyn Danszczak (44) round out SRU's attack leaders while Ava Haynes is coming off a season-high nine kills in the Shippensburg match.

• Paityn Krause splits setting duties with Yost for The Rock. A starter in SRU's last five matches, Krause has distributed a team-best 295 assists (5.27 per set) in addition to serving 13 aces.

BLOCK PARTY
As a team, Slippery Rock ranks seventh in Division II in total blocks (131) and 35th in blocks per set (2.34).

• Aiding VonderHaar in SRU's impressive block efforts has been a large contingent of seven other Rock athletes who all have produced double-digit block totals this season in Chevalier (29), Rumbaugh (27), Nalbach (26), Danszczak (17), Haynes (16) and Annis (10).

QUICK STARTERS
Slippery Rock has won the first set in nine of its 14 matches this season. SRU is also 8-6 in the second set and 6-3 in the fourth set of matches so far in 2025.

Of The Rock's seven losses this season, four have come in five-set bouts.
