LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Slippery Rock University track and field teams will travel to Carnegie Mellon University and West Liberty University for a pair of two-day meets this weekend with action slated to begin Friday and conclude Saturday in both locations.

MEN'S QUICK PREVIEW
Slippery Rock will send 38 men to compete in 12 events at Carnegie Mellon this weekend and 17 men to compete in nine events at West Liberty this weekend.

Most of The Rock's roster will head to Pittsburgh to compete at Carnegie Mellon, while select jumpers, throwers and multi-event athletes will head to West Liberty.
Â
Slippery Rock enters the weekend with nine performances that currently rank in the top 30 among all Division II teams and athletes. That list is headlined by pole vaulter
Dan Hyatt, who ranks No. 6 in the country with a clearance of 5.00 meters.
Zack Duda is the next-highest ranked SRU athlete at No. 11 in the decathlon (5,772 points) with
Ethan Folmer also ranked No. 23 in the decathlon (4,871 points).
Joshua Gose ranks 12th in the shot put (16.64 meters) with
Seaton Wozniak ranked No. 19 in the same event (16.09 meters).
Josh Kingerski rounds out the top ranked field athletes at No. 17 in the javelin (61.13 meters).

On the track,
AJ Virata enters the weekend ranked No. 28 in the country in the 200-meter dash (21.37 seconds). Virata also ran a leg of the No. 19 ranked 4x100-meter relay, where he teamed with
Kanye Thompson,
Matthew Crow and
Jeremy Uher to run 41.25 seconds.
John Juszynski rounds out the top-30 ranked efforts for SRU at No. 29 in the steeplechase (9:36.23).

Anna Igims with a pair of top-five efforts. She ranks No. 3 in the steeplechase (10:45.89) and No. 4 in the 5,000-meter run (16:49.33).
Maddie Grillo is also No. 27 in the steeple (11:37.10) to cap the top efforts in the distance races. Also on the track, the SRU 4x100-meter relay of

Thai-Lin Pierce ranks No. 29 in 47.19 seconds.

The top effort in the field belongs to multi-event athlete
Lydia Latimer, who is No. 6 in the heptathlon (4,284 points) with
Lorna Speigle also ranked No. 10 in the heptathlon (4,132 points). The Rock own four throws marks in the top 30 nationally entering this weekend.
Isabella Bartoletti ranks No. 13 in the javelin (42.57 meters),
Olivia Heckman is No. 17 in the shot put (13.77 meters),
Becca Martin is No. 27 in the shot put (13.27 meters) and
Tiffany Jolayemi is No. 29 in the hammer (49.43 meters).
Aleks Brozeski leads the jumpers at No. 20 in the long jump (5.66 meters) and
Cassidy Davis rounds out the top-30 marks at No. 25 in the high jump (1.62 meters).
