LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Slippery Rock University men's track & field team recorded 22 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, three NCAA provisional marks and won six events at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Invitational that wrapped up Saturday night from the University of Lynchburg.

The headliners for Slippery Rock included
AJ Virata with a trio of victories on the track and
Dan Hyatt and
Josh Kingerski with career-bests and NCAA provisional marks in the field.

Virata swept the short sprints and won all three events he competed in Saturday. He took the 100-meter dash in 10.76 seconds, won the 200-meter dash in 21.37 seconds and teamed with
Trey Huha,
Micah Good and
Kyle Rauchut to win the 4x400-meter relay in 3:19.39. Rauchut also hit the PSAC standard in the 400-meter dash with an eighth place finish in 49.47 seconds.

Kingerski won the javelin with an NCAA provisional mark of 61.13 meters to set a new career-best in the event. His previous best was 58.92 meters, which he set last week in the 2024 outdoor opener. His mark currently ranks No. 17 in Division II this spring.
Joseph Reed also hit the PSAC standard in the javelin to take fourth with a throw of 56.59 meters.

Hyatt took second in the pole vault with a career-best and NCAA provisional clearance of 5.00 meters, marking the first time in his career he has cleared the 5.00-meter mark in competition. Hyatt's jump currently ranks No. 6 in Division II so far this spring. SRU put three men in the top five in the vault with
Bradon Schneider placing third at 4.55 meters and
Andy Huynh finishing fifth at 4.55 meters.

The Rock also got an NCAA provisional mark and a win from
Joshua Gose in the shot put with Gose landing a throw of 16.64 meters to match the NCAA mark on the dot. His effort ranks No. 11 in Division II so far this spring.
Seaton Wozniak took third in the shot put with a mark of 16.09 meters to give SRU two in the top three. Gose also took fourth in the discus with a PSAC mark of 44.73 meters. His brother,
Zach Gose, was sixth at 43.81 meters and Wozniak also hit the PSAC standard in ninth with a toss of 43.27 meters. Zach then took second in the hammer with a mark of 52.62 meters to round out the eight PSAC marks in the throws.

SRU's PSAC qualifying efforts in the field were capped by a pair of top three finishes in the triple jump.
Ian James won the competition with a leap of 13.89 meters and
Zack Duda took third with a mark of 13.68 meters.

Matthew Crow and
Cade Adams led SRU in the hurdles with Crow taking third in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.81 seconds and Adams finishing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.97 seconds, both good for PSAC qualifiers.

The final PSAC marks of the weekend came in the mid-distance races, where SRU had two runners hit the standard in both the 800-meter run and the 1,500-meter run.
Devon Navaroli hit the mark in both events, first finishing 16th in the invite section of the 1,500m Friday in 3:59.87 and then coming back to place ninth in the 800m Saturday in 1:56.50.
Joseph Cintavey took seventh in the 1,500m Friday in 3:55.27 and
Ryan Corbitt was 12th in the 800m in 1:56.88.
