GENAVA, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University women's indoor track & field team recorded 17 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, two NCAA provisional marks and 12 top-10 finishes at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games Saturday at the SPIRE Institute in Ohio.

The highlights of the day for Slippery Rock belonged to a trio of athletes that locked up an automatic qualifying spot for next week's PSAC Championships in their final opportunity of the season.
Chalondra Clarke punched her ticket in the 60-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 9.32 seconds,
Cassidy Davis earned a spot in the long jump with a season-best leap of 5.36 meters and
Aleks Brozeski also earned a spot at next week's meet with a season-best long jump mark of 5.30 meters.

Davis and Brozeski were two of the three SRU athletes that hit PSAC marks in the long jump Saturday.
Samantha Gilbert led the trio in sixth place with a leap of 5.63 meters. Davis was 11th at 5.36 meters and Brozeski was 16th at 5.30 meters. Gilbert also took fourth in the 60-meter dash in 7.68 seconds, just missing her own school record of 7.65 seconds. She was joined in the 60m by
Regan Johnson, who clocked a season-best time of 7.79 seconds to take eighth in the finals. Brozeski also tallied a top-10 in the triple jump in seventh place with a mark of 10.72 meters. She was joined by
Autumn Wyatt in ninth with a leap of 10.57 meters.

Madison Murtland clocked a pair of career-best times in the mid-distance races to improve her seeding at next week's PSAC meet. She took 10th in the mile in 5:13.60 and came back to finish 17th in the 800-meter run in 2:22.25.

Chaley Younkin lowered her season-best in the 60-meter hurdles to take 17th in 9.22 seconds, just ahead of Clarke in 19th in 9.32 seconds.

Maddie Grillo rounded out the top-10 showings on the track with a ninth place finish in the 5,000-meter run in 19:11.88.

Both NCAA provisional marks came in the field from a pair of athletes that already had the NCAA standard.
Kendall Grossman led a trio of SRU athletes to at least the PSAC standard in the pole vault with a fourth place finish and an NCAA mark of 3.75 meters, just off her season-best of 3.80 meters.
Allie Taylor was ninth at 3.45 meters and
Hanna Zeiler was 15th at 3.30 meters.

Sarah Corrie had the other NCAA mark with a fifth place showing in the shot put with a toss of 13.98 meters to lead a foursome of SRU athletes to at least the PSAC standard in the event.
Becca Martin was eighth at 13.05 meters, followed by
Olivia Heckman in 13th at 12.47 meters and
Savannah Schneck in 15th at 12.25 meters.

Tiffany Jolayemi rounded out the PSAC marks and the top-10 finishes with an eighth place showing in the weight throw with a toss of 15.72 meters.

Saturday's meet marked the final tune-up for Slippery Rock before the PSAC Championships next Sunday and Monday at Lehigh University. A full preview for the conference meet, including a list of all of SRU's accepted entries, will be posted to RockAthletics.com by Friday.
