BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's cross country team took 16th in the Brown Race at the Paul Short Run Saturday at Lehigh University with
Anna Igims leading the way in third place in the individual race.

Slippery Rock was the third Division II team in Brown Race standings with the other teams ahead of SRU being Division I races. The field included 35 total teams with most of them being from the NCAA Division I level. The Rock led all schools in the PSAC and finished just behind Davis & Elkins in terms of teams from the Atlantic Region.

Igims was the top Division II finisher in the race with a third place showing after covering the 6,000-meter course in 21:16. She was beaten only by a pair of Division I runners with the winner crossing the line in 21:02.

Ruthie Hughes took 10th in 21:48 to give Slippery Rock two runners in the top 10 with Igims and Hughes being two of just three total Division II runners in the top 10.

Morgan Dennison was the third scorer for SRU in 111th place in 23:19.
Jennifer Cichra was 148th in 23:38 and
Maddie Grillo was 172nd in 23:51 to round out the scorers.

SRU's entries were capped by
Tatiana Holt in 197th in 24:15,
Hannah Burgoon in 207th in 24:24 and
Carissa Flynn in 240th in 25:04.

SRU also had eight women compete in the Open Race earlier in the day Saturday with
Skye Hackathorn leading the way in that race in 165th in 24:00.
Grace Dahlke was 244th in 24:50 and
Madi Koza was 311th in 25:40 to cap the top three runners in the Open Race.

Slippery Rock will compete again next Friday at Edinboro before resting for the PSAC Championships Oct. 26 at Kutztown.
