LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University pole vaulter
Kendall Grossman was named Monday as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Ashland Invitational last weekend.
Â
Grossman, a senior from West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, picks up her first PSAC weekly award this season after recording an NCAA provisional mark for the third time this winter. She cleared a height of 3.70 meters (12' 1.5") in the pole vault to place second at the Ashland Invitational last Saturday.
Â
So far this season, Grossman owns the top three vaults in the PSAC at 3.70 meters, 3.75 meters and 3.80 meters. No other athletes in the conference have cleared a height higher than 3.65 meters.
Â
Grossman's season-best of 3.80 meters currently ranks No. 1 in the PSAC and No. 16 among all vaulters in Division II this winter.
Â
Slippery Rock will return to Ohio for the third weekend in a row when it travels to the Jim Wuske Invitational Saturday at the University of Mount Union.
