QUICK PREVIEW
Slippery Rock will be competing for the first time since the opening weekend of December and returns to action after a long layoff for final exams, the holidays and the semester break. The Rock will send 33 men and 35 women to compete at Kent State.

On the men's side, SRU added more than a dozen men to the indoor roster after the semester break, including all the distance runners that were still resting from the cross country season during December. In the season opener, AJ Virata led the way in the sprints and enters this week ranked No. 2 in the PSAC in the 200-meter dash and No. 3 in the 60-meter dash. Matthew Crow ranks first in the PSAC in the 60-meter hurdles, while Dan Hyatt ranks second in the pole vault and Ryan Corbitt ranks second in the 800-meter run. Seaton Wozniak (shot put), Joshua Rohland (weight throw) and Zack Duda (heptathlon) all rank fourth in the PSAC so far this winter.

The Rock women were led in the opener by two athletes that currently own top marks in the PSAC and a third that set an SRU record. The record came from Samantha Gilbert, who clocked the fastest 60-meter dash time in program history, a mark of 7.65 seconds that ranks No. 3 in the PSAC. Kendall Grossman and Sarah Corrie both rank first in the PSAC with NCAA provisional marks in their respective events with Grossman leading the way in the pole vault and Corrie ranked first in the shot put. Corrie is joined in the shot by Olivia Heckman, who ranks third in the PSAC. Alice Bogia enters the weekend ranked third in the PSAC in the triple jump, while Tiffany Jolayemi ranks fourth in the weight throw and Lorna Speigle ranks fifth in the pentathlon.

A look at each of the top two entries in every event for SRU this weekend can be found below. The full heat sheets are available at the live results link HERE.
